Hi guys,
I bought a wide (8/8) Harmonie razor from a flea market. The scales were shot so I mounted it in a set of Hart razor scales. Looks awesome.
So I set about trying to get it sharp. The bevel seems to be wide at both ends and very narrow, almost invisible, in the middle. Its definitely warped.
Ive read a few posts where they recommend using a heavy hone, say 600grit, to try and flatten the thing out, but its taking a lot of steel off, and still not change in the bevel width in the middle.
Im a newbie at straight honing, and using lapping film. Im just not sure whether I should just put this razor aside and start with some of the other razors I have, to try and improve my honing, and come back to this after I get through a few more hones, or keep going with this razor?
Any suggestions as to the best way to put a nice edge on this razor?
Cheers Rob
