In the seller's ( Not me) own words on Etsy. "Unique 1961-62 Gillette All Nickel Heavy Tech Set Complete Shop Display.

This is an ultra rare if not unique complete shop display set of six 1961-1962 Gillette Heavy Tech No.21 ‘bathroom’ cases.

The Razor components are all nickel plated brass with the solid Heavy knurled handle. No aluminium or stainless steel!

Marked Gillette, Made in England on the guard & acid etched Gillette on the cap.
About 80mm long & a solid 60g weight."
Well who'd have thunk it! another rare old tech. This time it's an all brass spiral tech. Gillette England ploughed their own furrow in those far off dys Here's my and pjgh's , English 58/61 all brass solid handle, brass and nickel Transition Tech, named the German tech "Sonderangebot" on Mr Razor's site. These razors weigh 72 g ,whilst an English aluminium handled, brass upper plate, brass bottom plate spiral tech weighs in at 32g This makes me wonder if the razors on Etsy may have an aluminium component in them after all, or maybe the brass handles are hollow? Hmmmm.

Alum Ladd

Could be most likely nutjob stuff

There is an English Tech from '58 which fairly closely follows that description

I've got an example of that quite rare etched endcap without the diamond logo, but the handle on mine is alu. Base and end cap brass. I date it to around 1958-61.

Mine comes in at around 32 gms.

The usual comparatively higher-efficiency English Tech.

^ Yep, those 60g all brass techs are somewhat common, esp in mid price point sets like the 45(?) on Mr razors site.

I still think that standard knurled handle wasn't made by the UK factory, although I haven't found any concrete data yet. :biggrin1:

Also that Etsy antique dealer is notorious for making stuff up, so take any descriptions from that seller with a big pinch of salt.

To be fair that refers to the shop display not razor.

Some of the other descriptions are very funny, like the T-pin Gillette Rubie he's selling.
Hopefully people won't start thinking 'Edwin Wilbur of London' designed the Flat bottom New in 1920, like 'Joseph Potter of Birmingham' made the Woolworths razors 😀
