What's new

Got my edwin jagger de89l very disapointed (see why)

Hi gomlz,

I was having a look on line. Looks like your razor is fine as the others mentioned. The total length of your EJ should be 8.25cm. The total length of the Parker 22r should be 11.1 cm. You photo looks those measurements would be about accurate. In any case I am certain you will love your EJ.

This isnt a short Razor, its a Normal size Razor, and your parker is just a long handle which isnt a Normal size Razor :eek:/ some people like shorter handle and some like longer or Larger width handles as well. But trust me, That Ej89 is one hell of a smooth shaver, Your gonna love it )

I had the same sort of reaction when I first received my Edwin Jagger DE89L

I have both a Parker 60R and an EJ89 razor and whilst the Parker is both larger and heaver than the EJ the EJ sure shaves better.

I have nothing to add. I just had some extra punctuation lying around, so I thought I would make it available. This wouldn't be directed at someone specific, so anyone can feel free to take what you want from above.

When I saw this topic it scared me a little bit, since I just an ordered a DE89L last night. Glad I read the thread! I wonder if anyone does "Blue Steel" blades

The EJ is a much higher quality then any Parker. And gives a better shave to boot. Just do what he said up there....just look for a longer handle and you'll have your dream shaver. For a while until the RAD kicks in.

I had the opposite reaction than the OP going from an HD to the DE 89L! I was surprised at the length and weight, despite reading comparison threads before.

Love my DE89! And glad you got it figured out, I remember when I first opened the box being a little surprised at the length and weight of it. Then I shaved with it, and all was right in the world.

I don't see why you're so pissed and now posting this? I mean do your research before placing an order online. you ordered the normal one, NOT the long handle version. Parkers do weigh more also, common knowledge if you research. I know it sucks but it's not the company's fault so relax and own up to it. Get the "L model". But I've yet to read the part where u actually use the blade and try it. Many de razors have what us noobs call "short" handles. it's not built for a traditional cartridge razor user, i think. well, you could make the argument that it is built for noobs. eitherway I'm ordering one soon and passing my merkur classic to my cousin who may be a convert. already got him on lathering with a brush. he loves it.
