What's new

Fragrance / Scent of the day.

I am wearing today, for the first time in a long time, Terre d'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver, which I guess is billed as an edp, as opposed to an edt. I cannot recall how it is I came to have a full bottle of this and none of the regular TdH, when I tend to think of myself as liking the regular TdH better. But I am really liking this one.

The vetiver really comes through. Tenacity is excellent, although I may have over applied not thinking about it being an edp. Seems perhaps a tad linear. Hermes does a nice job to my nose.

Clinique Happy for Men (1999). This may be the first fragrance that really amazed me back in the late Summer of 1999. This is the first time I have tried it since then. Funny, it is different than I recall. I thought it was built around melon and cucumber, but it is actually a white flower and wood accord with some aquatic calone that I was identifying incorrectly. It was so new, so fresh, so intoxicating. Now, the calone feels outdated, with so many different aquatic isotopes and molecules in use. It is similar to L'Eau D'Issey in this way, but the calone is less sharp in this one. It is probably my favorite 90s white fragrance. I foolishly waited so long to pick it up for only $20. I never had it initially, due to price. I would just spray it in the department stores whenever I had the opportunity. It is definitely more of a warm weather and sunshine fragrance.
