I have to get up at 04:30 so shaving in the morning is out of the question. A relaxed 3 pass evening shave does me for the entire next day, so it's a no-brainer for me.

I always shave at night after a shower. I don't like to go to bed dirty and shaving after a shower helps my relax. When I worked I would get up and out of the house in 15 minutes. No time to shave. Put on deodorant, brush my teeth, aftershave, get dressed and out the door. I didn't like getting up any earlier than I had to in order to get to work by 6:00am. Since I retired I still have the same night time routine. The only difference is in the morning. I don't put on aftershave unless I'm going out.
Up at 5:15, out the door by 6...I'm not getting up earlier to shave, that's for sure! It's a nice relaxing thing to do at night before hitting the sack.

I have two kids of my own 3 yo girl and a 18 mo boy, my wife has two older kids 10 and 13. I am a stay at home dad for my two and so on as the situation insists, wife works...yes backwards but it is the lot we have atm. Time is a thing that flows and fluctuates for me, so I may shave in the after noon and some times at night when I can as early morning I can't shower and shave as I would like unless I get up at an ungodly hour in the morning to do so...I have contemplated this change however.
As for applying AS, no I wont usually apply it if it is too late in the evening though I too love an AS. I will however apply an AS next morning, why not? I mean if your a gent who washes his face in the morning, I do and I re apply witch hazel followed by balm and then a splash of AS...helps with the healing and also freshens the face for the new day. Totally applicable my friends.

Same here I get up at 0500 a couple days a week and shave the night before. When I have the time I do the slow morning shave.
Bay Rum at night (try this and see what the lady does, you will be excited) and some ASL in the morning after the shower. There is no rule that one has to use AS after a shave...
