First Straight Shave

I only ever do a two pass when straight shaving, nor do I own an alum block. An alum block would be nice, but I'm a minimalist. I own two straights, I make my own strops so that isn't an issue, and I have hones up to 8k which is all one needs for shaving sharp, one brush and tubes of shave cream. With that gear and two passes, I manage to get BBS 98% of the time. The other 2% are just bad hair days really. Congrats on your ongoing improvement and success.

I'm back from my vacation. I used the straight all but two days. I figured that I wouldn't risk it on the mornings that I woke up under the weather. Might of been a touch of food poisoning. Maybe some bad ice in all that Jameson I drank.

I'm really getting to like it. When I got back I had a package waiting for me with three old straights and a strop that I bought on the bay. Now I can get in to honing.
