Fireside Chat: Tonights Topic: Brut

I have the Brut ASB in my rotation

My dad never wore Brut splash or cologne, but I remember using some as a teenager, so the scent doesn't bother me at all..I like using it towards the end of the canadian winter: sunny days, a slight fresh air; the Brust scent is perfect for that.

However, as far as colognes go, I prefer applying Brut Revolution.

I like Brut and usually keep a bottle of the aftershave around. I don't like it as much as Clubman or Old Spice, but since it smells good and is inexpensive I figure it's worth having in my shave den.

I think I might have BrutAD :scared:, I go past a shop everyday and it has Brut on sale for £1.99 and the last 2 days I've gone in and bought a bottle.

Testament to the power of fragrance- now I've been smelling these I can't stop thinking about bike racing. I used them all last summer before a race, as they are nice and clean and made me feel freshened up for a few hours on the road. Seems to go well with the smell of the embrocations we all use on our legs too! Especially the Clubman as it stays around so well- I'd even smell it a little when showering after a race. Through the Autumn and Winter though I tend more towards leathery, spicy scents like Tabac and Spanish Leather. Racing season for me doesn't start for a few weeks yet...

Nice! My team was sponsored by a company called Mad Alchemy that makes embrocations for cyclists- I love the scent of their warm weather embro.

I think the smells of embrocation or AS can help me feel a bit more civilized as I'm chewing on my handlebars and turning myself inside out...

I was pleasantly surprised when I tried this product. In fact, it is one of the best A/S balms out there, especially when you consider the price! It's moisturizing, leaves you with good "face feel"..not greasy...deals with redness well. Everything you want...but then we get to the scent.

The stuff reminds me of my adolescence....London in the 70's....which is a very pleasant trip down memory lane. So what I do is to use the stuff on days when I'm going to be alone...or just relaxing...or just far from the madding crowd....and then I just enjoy the past that it evokes without worrying about the effect it might have on other people...which is not universally positive! Just ask my wife.

Plus, the A/S balm is not heavily scented and so it's noticeable but not overpowering.

If they made an unscented version, I don't think I would use anything else...but then again, it wouldn't be Brut, would it?

I used Brut as my daily AS in HS and saved the Ole English and British Sterling for the Weekend. My Sr I move on to Canoe and Polo.
