Fixed Four For March Madness

Wednesday Ten Day Double March 19

Blade - Single Use Feather 🇯🇵
Razor - Lupo OC 127 driven with a Chinese Dscosmetic Titanium Handle 🇨🇦 🇨🇳
Brush - Boti White Haired Weng Boar Bristle Bule Knot 30mmx40mm set in a Boti acrylic handle 🇨🇳
Soap - Saponificio Varesino Felce Aromatica 🇮🇹

I decided to lengthen my face and head shave to a ten day interval. This will leave me with one more shave for the FFFMM. I have been working hard on breaking in the stubborn boar knot. I will only endure one more shave with it before it’s retired. I have learned a lot from the experience. The stiffer a brush is the greater amount of shave soap used. And this boar is huge pig with soap. Hand lathering required with this knot. Most importantly I’ve learned to make adjustments required with sub performance from one of the four in my shave kit. My shaves and skin comfort are still excellent. I do miss the luxurious lathering available with a good quality boar knot. I shall return to that pleasure next month. It was also great to use the Lupo OC 127 with a heavier beard growth. The wolf performed brilliantly.

Tonight’s smoov, Solstice shave
RazoRock Game Changer 0.68OC on PAA el Fantasma handle
Cloud Bruce Lee (2)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Beehive Titanium UHD 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: warm shower :001_wub:
Lather: BSS#1 unscented, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Finding that special angle where the blade happily chomps whiskers while sparing me as best it can is a rush. Even if I do keep making this discovery every few shaves… Lots of face washes in the shower followed by a generous application of soap and spendth amount of water made the whole endeavor pleasant and relaxing. Looking forward to next time!

I'm glad I picked this brush for the Fixed Four. The SV 2.0 brush may be the world's most perfectly balanced shaving brush. It has perfectly balanced qualities. It's a big brush, but it isn't too big. The knot is large, but it rinses easily and quickly. The density is perfect so it loads very easily and lathers rapidly, but it is also plenty soft. It has the perfect amount of delicious scrub. The knot is very present, but not harsh or prickly. Whether swirling or painting, the knot is just right.

I like my other SV 2.0 brushes. I like my Limited Edition SV brushes in the larger 30 mm size, too. However, it would be hard to argue any are superior to this cocobolo SV 2.0 beauty in form or function. The handle is beautiful with perfect ergonomics. It disappears when the brush is being used.

Happy shaves to you,

Jim

Last night’s smoov shave
RazoRock Game Changer 0.68OC on PAA el Fantasma handle
Cloud Bruce Lee (1)
Damp facecloth aka “shave binky”
AP ShaveCo Beehive Titanium UHD 28mm synthetic brush
Pre-shave: a few splashes of cold water
Lather: BSS#1 unscented, face-lathered
Aftershave: Olm Nom
Post-shave: warm shower :001_wub: and a drop of hyaluronic acid and a drop of glycerin
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Tried doing a single WTG pass, but I left too many stragglers behind. Tried some WTG cleanup on my jawline and throat, but there were still too many stragglers left behind. Lathered up again for an ATG pass and got an expectedly closer shave. Not as close as it usually is when I just do an ATG pass or so after showering, but almost, and seemingly faster. Could become a thing. Will try again next time.

After feeling next day irritation from the previous shave, I added back the pre-shave shower and lots of face washes during the shower and removed the WTG pass. Comfort during the shave and nine hours afterwards is sky high and only added seven minutes to the whole thing.
