I shim this razor and it is great. The audio feedback of cutting hair is vey useful. You can pick it up under $200 easily.

this was actually my first DE. it is tough to master and i'm still not there yet. the funny thing for me is that i don't like using feather blades in the AS-D1. other blades are just more palatable for my skin .

I use only Feather baldes in any DE razor I use once you get your technique down you may want to give them another try

I have it - really nice razor, shaves nicely, very forgiving - not my go to razor, but very nice nonetheless

I love my Feather All Stainless. A true work of art. Truly a sensational razor. To me "mild" means smooth. Shaving with a Feather is like learning to shave again. Once you get the angle right, you will hit the sweet spot and there is nothing better.

My sister gave me this razor for my birthday a while back and I love it. It's well made, looks great and gives a great shave every time. Turtle nailed it with his assesment and I believe it is not a razor for everyone. I've been shaving with a double edge razor for over 40 years so the learning curve for me was pretty flat. Lots of guys can't master them so they are always around for sale 2nd hand and barely used.
