"Euro" Palmolive GUT 2,2

I agree. Postage in the UK is getting ridiculous. In an effort to help you guys abroad (esp outside the EU) to experience the Palmolive shave sticks, I'll be giving the option of sending some of these out with any stuff I happen to sell on the BST forum. This will depend on what I'm selling of course, the weight of the item and how much space is left in the packet.

It's not as easy for us (here in the UK) as we don't have the adavantage of "flat rate" postage...the Royal Mail's prices just keep going up with the weight and the bands aren't that wide :thumbdown

I got caught out by the new size requirements on envelopes earlier this year. Unfortunately it was when I sent a Valentine card to my first serious "special someone" whose mother then paid the shortfall in postage plus a fine. Major oops.

I guess the best we can do just now is include the postage in the value of a swap.

How's that relationship going? :lol:

If anyone's interested it's either £2.10 or £2.38 shipping for two sticks depending on how you wrap it :001_smile

Firstly, Pumpkin is a great guy and seller. I've bought from him 3 or 4 times now and it's been a pleasure.

Secondly, I have a question. What exactly does the "GUT 2,2" on the box mean anyway? I've always wondered this.

Gut (German) = Good (English)

The 2.2 is a ranking average from the German version of Consumer Reports, "Stiftung Warentest". They test all kind of products. They have several criteria for the products and each get a ranking. In the end they calculate the average of these and the number that came out here is 2,2.

One thing was (when I lived in Germany) often criticized, and that was the fact they had the price/cost as one of the main weighing criteria. So often a product that is not so good in our eyes would get a better ranking just because of price.

Nevertheless, the Palmolive stick is great!

In Germany the best is 1 ("A" here in the US) and the worst is a 6 (F). Here is the ranking:
1 = very good
2 = good
3 = satisfactory
4 = sufficient
5 = insufficient
6 = unsatisfactory

Thank you Rudy! :thumbup1:

Soap sticks are a staple for me when I travel. They just make life so easy. Palmolive and Wilkinson Sword make great sticks and they are fantastic value.
