Do you ever use a DE

I use the DE when I travel and sometimes when I am in a hurry. In some ways going back to the DE after using the straight for a while is like learning to use a DE all over again. At least the pressure thing is resolved this time around.

I recently bought a DE so I can have the occasional lazy day and not really put too much thought into shaving, or when my face needs a break from straights. It works okay and I get BBS in some of the areas that I do with a straight, but overall the shaves really don't last anywhere near as long. Maybe 8 hours compared to the 13ish with a straight. Nevertheless it's nice to go back to once in a while

When I'm pressed for time in the morning, and when my 2 years old daughter wants to be in the bathroom with me when I'm shaving...;)

its not like its against the law, , who is in control you or a piece of steel, make your own decisions --------if you want to talk about shaving betrayal , how many straights do you need anyway---------shave how YOU want to shave, personally i have both and feel wonderful ,no guilt-----------i dont even use straights on my face anymore, except for just the back of my neck

Oh yeah, I'll use my DE often, and since I only shave 2 or 3 times a week, I'll usually do my first pass with my DE, and second and any cleanup with my straight. Doing that combo leaves me with a very nice and close shave.

Yes, I use a DE from time to time; Mostly if I'm rushed, tired, or sick. For the most part though, I stick with my straights.

I used one today.....was in a hurry, had this thing sitting around and had just bought a pack of blade for something else, so I figured why not. Very smooth results, but a ton of irritation and more blood than I've had in months with a straight. However, it was the first time I've picked up a DE in about 15 years, and even then I had only used one a few times, so I blame that on inexperience

I'm sure I'll end up doing it again if I'm in a rush, now that I have blades for it, so I guess I should learn to do it a little better :001_unsur

I love both DEs and straights. I use my trusted DEs when I need a very quick easy shave and my beloved straights when I want a relaxing and superior shaving experience. For me DEs are great, but straights are simply better.

+1

I have a JA Henckels travel razor which I use sometimes. It gives a nice quick shave, but doesn't compare to my straights. Plus....its a Henckels....so I don't feel like I've wandered to far when I break it out :p
