Ask me about shaving naked!
I’ve tried to avoid this thread, lol, but the answer is both yes and no.

Stirling does a lot of fragrance ‘dupes’, and for the most part does them quite well. They are both (too) strongly scented and not strong enough for other scents. IOW, they make something for everyone, but not everything for everyone. For example, if I shave with Tabac, I can smell it for days in my house, days in my brush, which interferes with other scents. But people love this.

Are the Stirling scents cheap? Well kind of but not really. If you compare them to Acqua di Parma, Creed Bois de Portugal, Chanel Blue, yes you can tell that the high dollar fragrances are better.

Stirling does an excellent job, both in soap base and fragrance, and at the PRICE POINT, you cannot go wrong.

Maybe it’s because many of the scents Stirling uses are synthetic fragrances which can come across as cheap and/or fake. Especially when compared to natural scents like those used in MdC. I think that’s why I’m not a fan of most “plain” sandalwood soap is that they use synthetic sandalwood instead of Mysore sandalwood essential oil. I get that it’s a cost thing in this particular case

Another thing to consider is that many of the scents that Stirling makes shaving soaps and after shaves in are not made by the houses whose scents that are being copied. If you want a soap to match your favorite fragrances, the chances are that except for one or two, they aren’t made by the fragrance house. If they are, chances are the price is sky high, and the soap mediocre to outright disasters like most 3T hard soaps and the current Czech and Speake.

Scents also don’t smell exactly the same between products. I like Floris Elite and have the shaving soap, AS, bath soap, and EdT. They all smell a little bit differently. You can tell that they’re all Elite, but the product that the scent is in affects the scent. So we shouldn’t expect a shaving soap to smell exactly like the EdT/EdP.

Yeah. After reading the ingredients on Creed soap, I figured it was just trash. Dollar Tree BPure quality glycerin soap.

IMO, the best option is usually just picking a good soap and splash that won't stand out much and putting on some cologne.

I’d say the same thing about the Speick line of products. Similar but slightly different scents yet all top tier products
