Dignity and the Wet shave

You got them very nice and even. Did you put them in a log and then cut them?
Nope. Silicon mold and Spackle knife.

I tried the third batch this morning. Much more quick foam than the 2nd batch, but still nice and creamy.

Based on those results, I went and made a pile, with the original two fragrances. One they've set, I'll unlold them for curing. I also tinned a bunch.

I think I'm all set for next year's Christmas stocking suffers!

Yep. I'm done for now. Got it out of my system. I usually do a crazy project like this one per year. Last year it was Quince Jam. The year before? Brandy. The year before that? Ghost pepper Chipotle.
Ghost pepper chipotle woow yeah I have grown ghost peppers, but chipotle from them hmm that sounds invigorating. We did make some regular jalapeno chipotle from the red jalapenos that we got last season. It was very nice....

Well that soap will keep you shaving for quite some time. The first one I tried was very nice. I used it last night. It was the MSS Standard (Lanolin). Very nice and creamy.

I grew some purple Bhut Jolokia peppers in the front yard of the house where my ex and I lived in Michigan. Someone/something stole the biggest one on the vine but never came back for anymore. Perhaps a lesson was learned. :)
I love all peppers Eric. I don’t go past the medium hot. I typically use green jalapeños four five times a week. I add them to most of my recipes. Not this year but the previous season we added ghost peppers to our chilli sauce it was too hot for us. So we had to mix it with our milder hot. It worked out well, I love chilli sauce. During barbecue season I always throw a couple of the long red peppers on the grill, sensational.

Good to hear. Actually, now that I look at the label, they were Carolina Reapers.

I appreciate your trying the soaps.

On that recovery batch (the other tin), while I liked the creaminess (and what was no doubt something greater than 7% Superfat), I wanted to improve it's ability to lather quickly. I warmed it up, and combined it with a drier batch so that the net oil profile came out as follows:

Stearic acid: 35%
Coconut oil: 20%
Tallow: 17%
Shea butter: 11%
Castor oil: 10%
Superfat blend: 7%

I'm very happy with how it came out. When it's cured, I'll send you a puck.

Ahh good ol Carolina Reaper. Here is Raleigh we have a state farmers market and every year, when fall comes around, we have a farmer that I refer to as the "pepper lady" sets up shop there. Her stand there is absolutely amazing. It is the prettiest of them all. Every kind of hot pepper you can imagine. This is just a portion of it. It is stunning! You can just pick up one of those little boxes you can see and fill with the peppers you would like. It is also quite affordable.

I will try out the other soap next week. We will see how superfatted it is. You are a gentleman Mark!
