What's new

Destin Florida?

We're trying for a cruise in the next 4 weeks or so (sans kids)...it sounds more expensive but since food is included it usually is the same as a beach house/hotel on the beach. But you get to visit other ports and countries. Plus there aren't so many spring breakers either.

I definitely have been looking into that. My girls want to go on another cruise. They came along on my moms "bucket list" cruise to Alaska in 2010 and really enjoyed it. The problem I was running into with the cruises, the port of call alone is outrageous to fly to that time of year. I am going to look into New Orleans port and see what I can find, I may be able to suffer in the car...

When is spring break and where do you plan to stay? Typically during spring break college students from all over the SEC inundate Destin. The beaches are some of the nicest I've been too. And there is a lot to do as well. Not sure if the track and big kahunnas will be open then since it isn't the summer months. They might be though. Definitely check out the baytown warf in Sandestin, there are lots of restaurants and the have a lot of other activities to do as well.

My kids are off From March 21st-April 1st.

Have been visiting Destin for 25 years and we took our kids for Spring Break, numerous times. Wonderful Beaches and a great Vacation.....check out

Probably too late for this year....but it is great for kids, has grass and just a short walk to the Beach!

You have already gotten great suggestions on things to do and places to eat....we like "Harbour Docks"

How is Miramer beach? There is a lot more rental availability the week we are going. Not to mention, a fraction of the cost. It appears to be quite close to Ft Walton.
