Cologne for Hot Summers?

+1. Excellent choice.

What about Agua Lavanda Puig? I use it all the time in the summer. Smells fantastic and it has a great bottle too.

I like the Vetiver de Puig, which I find to be a very clean, straight forward vetiver. Is the Aqua Lavanda comparable in the lavender scent, in other words a sort of single note, clean straight forward lavender scent?

Besides Terre d'Hermes, Taylors Victorian Limes, Crown Perfumery Crown Spiced Limes and Trumpers GFT. Floris made a very nice and lasting Limes but it is no longer in production. One of my favorites Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte is very nice but does not last long.

I forgot to add one of the best and long lasting citrus colognes. Try Pecksniffs Fresh Citrus. This cologne will last you until next week.

LOL, that might be a little more longevity than I need, but I do like the sound of it. I've never seen a Pecksniffs cologne, other than on-line. I'll have to see if I can contact them for a sample.

Randy, of course that's an exaggeration but it does last all day. It's a great scent. Bergdorf Goodman carried the line for a time but discontinued it several years ago.

I'll out throw in Gendarme V or Gendarme 20.

"V" has a bit of vetiver. 20 is more lavender.

I prefer "20" It's the ultimate fresh scent...like a just pressed white shirt.

It's not sexy, but it's great in hot weather.

Yes, I knew you were joking, Austin, but thanks for adding the specifics. Not many of the citrus colognes I've sampled have had that kind of staying power. Most are disappointingly short-lived.

I should have guessed that you are from the southern hemishpere! It did not get above 10F here one day last week, so summer seems like a distant memory. Some nice summer one are:

Yardley English lavender
SMN Imperial Lavender
Creed bois de cedrat
Farina extra vielle
Anglia Perfumery Imperial Lime
Trumper Ajaccio violets.

The lime holds up for several hours on my skin. The others are quite fleeting and need a top up every few hours.

One of my favorites Hermes Eau D'Orange Verte is very nice but does not last long.

Makes sense, it's because it's an Eau de Cologne. I believe it was originally just called Orange Vert but people didn't realize it was an EdC so they added the Eau to a bunch of them

Monsieur de Givenchy is what I wore this past summer, though I think it works well in any season. Most Bay Rums would work well also. For lime, I really like Crown Spiced Limes. You may also want to try Aqua di Parma.

Burts Bees Cologne Bergamot/Lemon with a bit of a woodsy kick. They also offer matching aftershave, deodorant, body wash etc. The shave cream is a non lather so I wouldn't recommend that (I use MB cedarwood/lemon instead.)

My other suggestion would be Chrome Azzaro. A nice light scent that will last w/o overpowering.

I'd normally mention SCS's Bay Rum with a Twist, but I think international shipping is an issue. Perhaps some Taylor No. 74 Victorian Limes?

Thanks for the many options - I am finding this a bit addictive:lol:

Anyway here's what I have purchased so far

TOB Bay rum - I like it a lot
Royall BayRhum - _ I love it and the Mrs like it too - Bonus!!!
T&H 1805 - I have the balm and waiting on delivery of the Cologne
St Johns Bay Rum - waiting on delivery
Tiffany Sport & Tiffany cologne - Free samples ( I bought the Mrs the Pure for Christmas so I haven't tried mine yet or she will wonder why I have 6 vials of mens samples from Tiffany {that I was given free from a friend!!!}

What I want to try at some stage

Penhaligons Opus 1870 (sample arriving soon)
Penhaligons English Fern (sample arriving soon)
Creed - Bois du Portugal
Fou d' Absinthe
Czech & Speak 88 (maybe winter??)

THere are many on my list from this thread, but I want to find out more from the Mrs before I invest more $$

THanks again everyone - keep em coming!

Another, lower-cost alternative you might want to check out is good ol' Bowling Green by Geoffrey Beene. Also a citrus bomb to start out with a woodsy/mossy drydown, and (if you can get your hands on some Down Under) pretty high quality for dirt cheap.
I'm going to try some of this, thanks.
I was about to re-order some tabac from frangrancex, and I found this Bowling green there for $11, so I might as well add it to the order.
Anyone tried pierre cardin pour monsieur? I noticed that there for around the same money and read up some comments on base notes, it sounds interesting to me, and like nothing else I already have (not for summer, I'm just hunting around good value for money, but different colognes.)
