What's new

CDC: Cult de Candre

I have an answer to the original question about the jars:

It is just a multi-use skin oil, that can be used as a moisturizer, pre-shave oil, or aftershave lotion. It does not have the ingredients of a typical aftershave splash or lotion.

‐‐‐-----

Copra oil with chamomile and lemon
So simple, so complete. A product suitable for use by the whole family

Simply take a little of this oil between your fingers and gently massage it into your skin. This oil has the advantage of being absorbed very quickly without leaving any “shiny” film on the skin.

This oil is perfect for men:
As a Pre-Shave
Use it before shaving, this oil softens “rough” and “fragile” skin Just take a small amount of this oil between your fingers and massage your face. Apply a couple of minutes before lathering up.
As Aftershave
After shaving, simply take a little oil with your fingers and massage your face to soften the skin and calm the “fire” of shaving. The skin remains supple and is therefore “prepared” for the next shave. This oil has the advantage that it is absorbed very quickly and does not leave a “shiny” film on the skin.

But it is also perfect for Women and Children:
For women, after washing the face and possibly before makeup.
For children, after bathing.
For going outdoors during summer holidays and winter sports.
To nourish and better manage afro, frizzy and curly hair.

45 ml jar
Aluminium lid
Glass jar

Not to be a pedant, but... isn't this more of a face and hand oil-based lotion than a proper aftershave?
No worries, I think you may be right. The contents is 95% coconut oil, 5% of camomile extract with some lemon fragrance. They do call it both and aftershave and preshave it seems.

I’ve read some reviews on other forums, but wanted to see if anyone here had some experience with it.

Update:

Decided to check out the Original. Figured MdC would only make something they were proud of as their signature scent. Tossed in a jar of Nature for good measure.

I'm feeling very excited and fortunate to be able to enjoy such a fine soap amongst good company 😊
Never thought to try the nature. My only unscented soap is Canada.

I keep going back to the jar of Original to sniff it. I love to cook and the rosemary note makes me really, really happy.

I've never tried Canada shave soap, but I've only heard positive things. It apparently resembles MdC pretty closely.

I've heard the unscented does have a slight smell, I'm guessing from the ingredients. It just does not have any fragrance/essential oils added to it. Should be nice on days when my nose/skin is feeling particularly sensitive

That's awesome to hear the Original makes you happy. From what I gather, it's lavender-heavy with some mintiness in the background. Sounds pretty nice to me!

Wondering if they will make samples for the new soaps. I sure hope so
I got an answer from MdC!
