CC wish list

+1 on the S&W 642. I have one with a factory trigger job and Crimson Trace laser sights on it. Fits well in my pocket with a pocket holster. I like the reliability of revolvers and if I can't take out a single threat in three shots or less then it's hopeless anyway. I practice with it frequently with normal 38 Special, but will occasionally practice with some +P rounds. They are hard on the hand, but you need to practice occasionally with your carry ammo.

If money were no object, I would have gone for the S&W 340PD in the same configuration. Lighter frame and it will take a .357 Magnum round if needed (but really hard on your hand and hard to control on the follow-up).

Having been messing around at the gun counter lately, I would have to say the best one I've held lately has been the Kimber Ultra Carry II.

Ranging from $850-$1600 for models.

.45 ACP
1911 style
3" barrel
7 round magazine +1 if wanted

Optional night sights and Crimson trace grip laser.

Don't know if I personally like the dual tone of this one, but it is available in all blue or all stainless.

I would love to shoot one before I buy or atleast here some info on it, especially on how it handles recoil being a 1911 and a sub/compact.

OMG - I have a CZ 75 and it is OUTSTANDING!! A PPK is better than a PPK/S; another great choice.

But do look at a CZ 75, and better yet, find a buddy who can you try one out.
I grew up shooting my dads EAA witness and it was great. The more I look the more I want one. I'd looked at the pcr variant but I can't find one anywhere. For that matter I have only been able to find the p-07 in a store. How does it hold up to +p hollow points?

I've always loved the looks of the ppk. Now I wear suits 5 or 6 days out of the week I could use something that small for either pocket carry or ankle holster if nessicary. I shot one a few years back, functioned flawlessly and was the most accurate pocket gun I've ever seen.

I found the PPK (pre 1960's smaller version) way too large and heavy for pockets. Tried both the 32 and 380 and both were unacceptable (to me even the 25 acp PPK was too bulky).

If you could get away with a shoulder holster you might find the PPK acceptable, just don't take your jacket off at work :001_smile

If you can get away with a shoulder holster you might as well have a full size 9mm or 40 S&W

Thanks for the advice. Thats why I'm looking at the CZ. 90% of the time I carry at the 4 o'clock position but when corporate I have to leave it in the back as I may have to take off my jacket.

I wanna be sedated!
Just picked up a new one today. A Glock 26. It is my 1st Glock. I was very impressed with the 50 rounds I shot through it today.

Get some Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish and a felt buffer for the Dremel and look up "$0.25 trigger job"
It's nothing more than buffing out the metal parts of the trigger assembly, basically "breaks it in".

Do be careful on takedown. As with the Springfield XD, the striker must be released before the slide will move forward.
Unlike the XD, this can be done on a chambered round because the takedown release only requires the slide to be pulled back a couple of mm.
The XD requires the slide to be locked back to operate the takedown lever.

I'm completely happy with my glock 26. Picked it because I the double stack fits my hand better than most of the single stack smaller pistols. It was my first glock, and wont be my last. Picked up a couple extra mags for it so I can shoot IDPA with it.

This is my CC, Sig P239, .40 S&W, reason handles the round well, and is a single stack. I can handle a single stack with one hand or off hand better than a double stack. The chances of being a situation where you can take the time to get both hands into position are not likely to occur. The P239 in 40 can also change to .357 SIG, or 9mm with a drop in of a barrel.

The Belt is a "beltman" and the holster is a custom made rig from Grizzle Leather

Very nice IWB.
Similar function as a Crossbreed or King Tuck, but with the more gentle leather rather than Kydex pocket to reduce wear on the slacks.

Been a few people I've noticed with the (old style) Crossbreed belt clips showing and a "polished" spot on their hip or light spot on their jeans.
I also like the more discreet belt clips.

The wood grip panels on your Sig are stunning!
