I've really enjoyed this year's FFFMM. I managed to get my PRESSURE down again! It'll probably never reach zero, but it's a lot closer to it. This translates to extremely comfortable shaves, and nearly always BBS.

RAD strikes YET AGAIN!

UPS dropped this on my doorstep earlier today:

I'm not in the least interested in single-edge razors, but for some reason (unbeknownst to me), the OneBlade piqued my interest. So I went mad and purchased their cheapest version (the Core):

Very upmarket packaging :

It feels good in hand, and a lot heavier than it looks (67.4g loaded):

My "grail" razor (the OliBlade) is booked in for this evening. Then I have THREE new razors to try out.
So, hopefully I'll get to it THIS WEEK.

I must admit, I'm enjoying my RAD.

A brilliant shave.

The OliBlade remains my "grail" razor… but only just. The (now unobtainium) "Worlds Finest Safety Razor," which I used throughout last month's FFFMM came very close.

It has now taken first place on my "Closed Comb Podium." This pushes my 1947 Knockout to Number 2, Phoenix Quantum Alpha to Number 3, and removes my Lambda Athena altogether.

The new (to me) ASL was excellent. (MORE DETAILS on this, if you're interested.)

Three new razors to trial... THE PLAN!

After yesterday's shave with my "Grail" OliBlade I intend checking out my new razors next:

I intend to give them one shave each (in the order shown above [left to right]) to get my initial impressions. After that, I'll give them all my usual seven-consecutive-shave-trial (in the same order).

As the OneBlade proprietary blades are single-edge Feather Hi-Stainless, I've decided to use Feather Hi-Stainless double-edge blades in the adjustable razors for their trials.

A tiresome shave.

I religiously followed the instructions, expecting the 8-10 (learning) shaves… but this was the most abysmal shave I've ever experienced. I just scraped through with a SAS (as opposed to my regular BBS shaves). So, this one definitely won't be joining my other two new razors for my usual seven-consecutive-shave-trial.

You can't win 'em all.

I'd considered (a little bit) the SB version with a similar name, and I think it's a slant. I'd suspect yours is a slant, too, but I don't know that.

I've very impressed with the Yaqi Avanti.

Of course, Yaqi has a good many more than these three.

I have the Yaqi Final Cut, the inexpensive version, not the SS version, and the Progress variant/clone in SS. At present, I doubt I'll buy more, but who knows.
