Blutt 1.2 Review - Revealing Comfort

With the Blackbird Lite, I prefer the Lab Blues, but for the OG Blackbird, the Wizamet is best so far.
Tried a Wizamet tonight with the Blackbird. I tried it on my satin stainless BB with the SB base plate.
A wonderful blade for this razor!
It felt very comfortable, not overly sharp and just a pleasure to use.
If memory serves, I think this is the first time I ever use a Wizamet blade. I got one here on B&B from "The great blade exchange" thread and had never touched it.
A no drama shave that was very smooth
and efficient. A great match! A+

Glad you like it! That combo is one that works well for a bunch of us, I think.

Not that I need another blade but I guess I'll be trying them out in other razors!
For me, whenever I’m experiencing heavy irritation I always downshift to a Wizamet. Really smooth and comfortable blade. And strangely, sometimes efficiency will actually go up because I’m able to buff more.

I agree. There are a lot of sharp and medium sharp blades I like to use, but there are only two mild blades that sing to me, Wizamet and Rapira Platinum Luxe. Of those two, Wizamets take first and second place.

Wizamets used to be my main blade.... I haven't used one for a while. Back then, I always used one for a first shave with any razor I bought...I have since moved on to mostly Perma-Sharps with a few others thrown in for fun... but I should revisit the Wizamets...I only have a few hundred of them, but as I remember, they were always sharp enough and very smooth.

I have my two Frankenrazors (R41 and Mellon Zamak combinations) loaded up with Perma-Sharps for my next shave... when I recover enough from this bug to feel like shaving... I wonder if Wizamets would have been a better choice.

Another shave tonight with the Blutt!
This time I used a Feather blade and it's the best shave I've had with the Blutt.
It came out of the "acceptable" rating to "excellent" (at least for this shave).
The Kai blade gave it some great energy but the Feather gave it the mega sharpness to smoothly get
past the "roughness" patch that I have been experiencing on the first passes.
It was incredibly smooth on both passes and amazingly no post shave harshness which has happened
to me many times with Feathers. I guess as of now, this is the blade that'll work for me with the Blutt.
Luckily I have dozens of Feather tucks in my razor stock!
I'll still be trying other blades though to see if anything else works.
A couple of good (smooth & efficient) shaves so far that have brought the excitement back with the Blutt!
Kai: B-
Feather: A+
Maybe I should try this. So far the Blutt has been a stinker for me.

Try it to see!
I used a Feather and angle wise, followed exactly the angle designed into the head.
Kept my skin evenly in between the top cap & base plate and I got great results!
None of the: shave steep, shave shallow etc..
Just wherever it was that my skin stayed equal between the two parts!
It got me out of the (meh) mode with the razor and now I look forward to using it.

I used the Wizamet tonight with my TRC Titanium razor.
It feels soft & mild but does what it's got to do with efficiency.
What a great blade!
Like I said, I didn't need another blade but it's really good.
I've just ordered 50 (for now!) 😂

For tonight's shave I wanted a different soap & blade!
I used the Blutt 1.20 but I took a look through my blade pile and my soaps.
My usual soaps are TOBS Mr. Taylor's, Cedarwood and Arko. I typically stick to the same
stuff because I like consistency. But tonight was one of those nights that I wanted something new.
I found a tub of TOBS Rose (wonderful stuff) which I don't even recall using and I also found
a brand new Polsilver blade that I got a while back on "The great blade exchange".
Like the Iridium Super, I had never used a Polsilver!
I expected it to be very close to the Wizamet (based on @helicopter "Dan's" research) and it was.
The real surprise here was how incredible it worked with the Blutt.
We all have had those: "That's gotta be one of the smoothest and greatest shaves I've had" moments
and this was one of them.
It's incredible that the Blutt started with me on the wrong foot and through the Kai blade, it's climbed
back up. The Kai gave it some strength (extra exposure) but then came the Feather and now an amazing
shave with a relatively mild (normal sized) blade.
Strange but:
I mentioned yesterday to @gdawg55 (Greg) about using the angle (smack in the middle of the top cap and
the base plate) and that's exactly what I did today again. My entire shave and perfect post shave has proven
(at least to me) that this razor was designed for that angle to deliver a perfect shave.
Anyways, it was most definitely an incredible shave from beginning to end.
Smooth is an understatement and as efficient as I need.
I'm really really happy that I backed out from selling the Blutt and it's now going to be part of my daily use
rotation of razors. :)

An object lesson in the importance of blade pairing. So happy that you hit the right combo! The Blutt really is a thing of beauty and in my opinion quite unique.

Larry, I'm glad you were able to hold off selling the Blutt and that it is finally working well for you... As you know, it's been one of those special razors for me.

I'm pretty sure that's where I'm finding the sweet spot... Neutral...

Thanks, I'm happy too!
Despite my "buy, try, keep, sell" way of doing things, the least desired outcome is having to sell anything.
The main goal is for a razor to work so it can stay with me.
And that's especially true when I like something (like the Blutt). It's very special indeed!

The Blutt 1.2 in my experience requests just a sharp blade which for me are either a Feather or Wilkinson or AX Rhino... so it can deliver an effortless buttery irritation free BBS for you... the initial summary by @Teutonblade is precise and spot on in my experience also.
It also works with other blades though then user skills becomes a larger variable.
The 1.2 gap is quite misleading in the sense blade feel is really minimal compared to say a Wolf 1.55.
I see a fair amount of listing's of these on BST recently... if you want a great razor either a daily or in your collection snap up those deals is my 2 cents.

Received a Blutt 1.2 today. Mine has what looks to be a manufacturing mark in the center of the top cap. Does anyone else’s Blutt have this? It’s very faint and the light has to hit the top cap at just the right angle for it to be noticeable. It’s not noticeable in my picture, but the mark runs across the entire top cap and is perfectly centered. It doesn’t bother me, I’m just curious if other Blutts have the mark as well.

I polished my matte finish Blutt and it has that very faint center. It's just as you describe... the center tool mark. It doesn't bother me either... it actually give the cap a unique personality, but it might bother others....
