Blutt 1.2 Review - Revealing Comfort

The Blutt fits the Karve stand perfectly. The Karve stand has a plastic insert, so if you get a brass or SS version the metal wouldn't come in contact with the handle. It's quite expensive.

I'm waiting on Yates to come back online. My hope is the Yates stand will fit the BR-1 handle. I think it has a plastic insert as well.

I really like the bare bones stand for the Alpha Spirit. But it's too small for the Blutt handle.

Currently, I'm using the RR stand that @Teutonblade is using. It's not optimal.
Agreed on Karve. Great stand but pricey.

I’ve been using a stand from Razorock (Italian Barber) which sells for $15. One neat feature is the inner cavity is graduated so it can accommodate handles of different widths. That said, the Blutt still wobbles around in it a bit and I’m looking for something a bit more snug. RazoRock Stainless Steel "DOME Top" Variable Width Inkwell Razor Stand – ItalianBarber - https://www.italianbarber.com/products/razorock-stainless-steel-dome-top-variable-width-inkwell-razor-stand
That's what I'm using now. Not a great fit...wobbles.

Man, I remember the days when I thought my razors all needed a stand. And then I found out I'm paying through the nose for something that is basically useless beyond making a razor upright. It does not shave, it does not clean, it does not protect against corrosion. The stand that comes with the Henson is the most ridiculous! It props up the razor just a few degrees higher from just basically laying it on the counter at almost half the cost!! What about those Ti razors who's stand must somehow also be made or the same high cost material for no good reason!.

It is just a rant about something YMMV so if you like your razors to stand at attention like soldiers, great!

Is there any blade overhang? From the pictures posted it looks like no overhang; i.e. the blade tabs are completely covered.

Is the handle good/comfortable?

If you have used an AS-D2, can you compare the two?

I really like the design of the head. The handle IMO looks just OK and I could probably live with it. My preference is for a traditional handle with simple knurling.

If I got one it would probably be the mildest one (0.67) since I'm a daily shaver with very sensitive skin.

How is the razor packaged? Do you have a picture with the box it came in?

Ok let have a stab at this.

no blade overhang.
handle works with me. I like the design and I've never had any issues with slipping. the balance of the entire razor is great.
no experience with AS-D2.
I would recommend NOT going with the mildest one as the 1.20 is for me very mild already. maybe going with the . 86? but only the 1.2 is available at the moment. the .67 is only available as a base plate option but fair assumption you don't own a blutt currently.

I've never used the AS-D2 but my understanding is it's a very mild shaver. And due to your "very sensitive skin," I suggest you look at the Karve Overlander over the Blutt. I've only used the Blutt 1.20. At its neutral angle, the Blutt 1.20 is deceptively efficient. Deceptive because it's so smooth and gentle you may not realize how close it's shaving. My speculation is that shaving with the lower gap Blutts could generate a bit of irritation chasing a close shave. And this is where the Overlander shines -- it's hard to over-shave with the Overlander. And it delivers very good shaves.

I sent them an email and they responded saying the 0.67 should be available shortly. They also said that the blade feel with the 0.67 should be similar to the AS-D2 but should be more efficient. Let me see if I decide to pull the trigger on this and if so whether I get the 0.67 or 0.86.

My new 1.20 baseplate arrived today packed in this handy little drawstring bag. Will give it a workout and see what difference there is compared to the .86 that I have been using.

Would like to hear from anyone that has tried the 0.67.
Have a look over here.

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the ASD2... but, FWIW, the .67 loaded with a Feather blade kind of reminds me of a Karve CB SB-B loaded with a Feather blade in terms of blade feel (or the lack thereof).

What's your go to razor right now and which blade is your blade of choice in this razor?

My preferred blade is Bic Chrome Platinum with AS-D2. I find the Feather too harsh, not to mention I don't like the glue.

That's a sharp blade, too. Thus I guess the .67 would basically suit you fine for daily shaving (taking Blutt's statement re: ASD2 vs Blutt .67 into consideration). You should note that I always shave an atg pass.
