Blade Bank Versus . ?

I got this for free when I ordered my stuff from them, it has a magnetic bottom. Very small and compact but I'm sure it can hold a ton of blades

I use a souvenir piggy bank in the shape of a British letter box along the lines of this.

After the kids ate the souvenir toffee, the bank went unused until I absconded with it.

Nobody has mentioned using a plastic blade dispenser. I can get six months worth of used blades in one dispenser, then I tape it up and chuck it.

I have a 5 month old boxer that eats everything she can find, so the tape idea is out for me. I got an idea from another member here to use a pepper tin. I bought one and emptied the pepper into a small container (we'll use it, anyway) and put my blades in the tin. I don't think I'll get it filled up in less than a few years and it seals well.

I picked this up on ebay. Before that, I used the $1 bank from West Coast Shaving.

I quickly found out that putting the blades in the back of the new blade pack was just a new way to throw used but still sharp blades all over your vanity drawer. .

How did you manage that? Those things are usually sealed nice and tight.

I just wrap the old blade in the paper from the new blade and toss it into the recycling bin.

I use a medical sharps container from my pharmacy. It will take many years to fill. They will then dispose of it for free as medical waste.

I currently use a prescription pill bottle. It looks like I'll get 3 or 4 years out of it, and it easily fits in my drawer. When that's full, I'll use this, which I bought for $1 at a flea market.

+1, this is a case of over thinking things. Some even have used blade slots in the bottom, like feather and Merkur.

Metal spice tins are a good idea -- just recycle all the metal at once, that way. I actually spent $1.00 on an "official" blade bank last time I bought something from Em's. Sometimes I'll spend $1.00 to be mindless. . Metal. Safe. Recyclable.

i have the same one
