Big Bang Theory

love this show. the actress who plays Amy Ferrah Fowler is an actual neurologist or at least has a phd in neurology. did anyone notice the vanity cards at the end of every episode? I just noticed them tonight apparently chuck lorre adds them to the end of all his shows. you can check them out on his website.

"Amy" was also "Blossom" back in the '80s.

I like the show. Mainly started watching it because of a big crush on Kaley Cuoco from her 8 Rules days. I do, however, think the show has gone downhill a bit.

Also don't like this trend of shows getting syndicated while they're still in production.

Speaking of Kaley Cuoco, anyone else think she's looking slim and very hot in this current season of Big Bang? First seasons she was slim, then she slowly put on more and more pounds, but it looks as if she's lost a lot of the weight now, and is actually looking stronger and more fit as well. I'm a fan, very sexy!

She looks much better lean. Call me a pig, chauvinist, whatever, this is a men's forum, isnt it?! :a14:

Considering she was 21 when the show started and she's 27 now, there's likely been the typical "wild oats" and maturing phase of a college-aged young lady.
Christina Applegate did the same.

You've got company. I watched it when it was first on, but now it's just so irritating.

Same here, i can't stand the sheldon character.

A guy who throws a fit because a hot woman is sitting on his "spot"...

I guess I view that as part of the comedy involved. Sheldon is so clueless that he doesn't see it that way. The guy is scientifically brilliant, but has NO sense of how things work in the real world.

The Penny character has cycled her weight over the past couple of seasons, but I haven't noticed her tightening up this season. The hefting up is esp noticeable in the commercials that she is doing, but that being said - she is exponentially more fit & attractive than this soft fleshy brokedown old man.

One of the ongoing ironies of the show that I love is that the one character who actually has real world accomplishments and contributions is looked down upon by the theroretical / research geeks. They place a higher value on their doctorates and potential than practicality - esp funny since as the series progresses, all of the doctoral characters work has dead ended at some point.

That's the beauty of it! The show gets the behavior of doctorates spot on. Some of them live in their own little world without much concern for what goes on outside of it, and often consist themselves above the "Normal" people and their accomplishments. I just finished engineering, and I had profs who treated everyone like morons and had a pompous air about then, but were also terrible teachers and had very little accomplished in terms of research. They can be an... interesting folk lol.

I like the show but have stopped watching it for now. I've had several people compare me to Sheldon as we do share some of the same tendencies (that's my spot). Right now I'm enjoying Archer. When I get back to work the warehouse is being cleared of asbestos so there'll be Danger Zone jokes spewing from me at every turn.

I have known dozens of men who were nearly as bad.
Almost savant-like in many ways, so "out there" with abstract thought that communication with "normal" people and grasping social concepts is like communicating with and learning the culture of another life form.

Let's not forget:
The exploding ISS toilet
Getting the Mars Rover stuck in a ditch

I think the Howard Wolowitz character is very underrated. He has some great lines and is totally believable to me as the horny engineer. Not overstated, like the Sheldon character can tend to be on occasion. The actor playing Howard has it down, IMHO.

SWMBO & I love the show. It's the only sitcom we watch. I actually have a couple if clients that are Sheldon. They are so intelligent but so devoid if personality having a conversation with them is like trying to have a conversation with a computer.
