What's new

Best walking shoes? Flat hikes, treadmill, 1-3 miles at a time.

I am an outdoorsy type. I walk in the woods or fields nearly daily. I mostly wear Merrells or Keens. I use the treadmill 2-3 times a week. I have a pair of shoes I wear on the treadmill only. Laugh if you will, but they are house brand joggers from Walmart. Athletic Works brand, I believe. They are very light weight and slip on due to elastic laces. They are less than 20 bucks.

Hi Jason,

I went through a lot of shoes before finding ones that I really like, these ones:

They are really cushion-y, and help reduce foot fatigue, like standing on those gel mats. Have had mine for 3 seasons now (I wear then outside of winter) and they are still going strong.

I wore Sketchers Go Walk for men for many years.

Now I wear Orthofeet.

Just my two cents......Good Luck. I agree with many people, Buy Quality Foot Wear!! You won't regret it.

I am not sure if you tried barefoot but may be worth a try, I have the Hykes Flex and took sometime to get used to but honestly love them now, feels good to be walking and at the same time doing something healthy for my feet.

You mean those shoes where your toes go in to individual toe slots? You really love them that much? Because I’ve heard mixed things about them. Is there a “getting” used to period? like getting over the initial blisters on your toes/feet stage?
I had a pair of five fingers and loved them. The last pair was sized different and still need to reorder a pair. Hoka(sp) is well recommended for cushiony running and walking by my friends but haven't tried them.
