Best rock album covers (not meant to pick on RazorDingo)

The Herb Alpert one is ICONIC, though...that's what makes it classic. It doesn't matter that it's a "chick covered in whipped cream", it is an album that a great many people have memories of.

Anything that was a gatefold....:balloon:

Seriously, I have always loved this:

I'm not sure that Whipped Cream is an iconic image, but presuming that it is, that isn't the point made. The point was the Whipped Cream is an example of "a dramatic change in the amount of detail, along with the thought and quality of the "album" cover" as compared to the covers of the LP generation, with Whipped Cream being the example.

However iconic it is or isn't Whipped Cream is neither detailed, thoughful or high quality. It might have been cutting edge or more titillating than any other album in 1965, and that may be why you consider it iconic, but a chick in whipped cream is a chick in whipped cream.

This is one of the best threads around. Great idea Sparkchaser! :001_smile

BTW...i have to say that I really dislike Pink Floyd, but that album is an iconic cover.

From, IMHO, the most underrated band of the Southern Rock genre:

I will give this a +1. I preferred the album cover for "Lightning Strikes Twice." I was happy to have watched the Dukes of Hazzard where they play the Molly Hatchet tune as they get into the race at the end. :w00t:
