Best fragrance for a manly man?

Gun oil. I think it smells great.

After that...a manly man will wear whatever he wants. Who's going to tell him otherwise?
I like to wear British Sterling around work, Brut or English Leather when I'm out, something Liliac at church, and Fahrenheit when I feel the need to grow a third testicle.

I'm familiar with all of them but the Fahrenheit. And since I like all of those, I'd probably like the Fahrenheit.

And what manly man couldn't use a third "tentacle" once in awhile?

Yea, me too. Same goes for whisky woods. Problem is my girlfriend absolutely hates anything Clubman.
I can see how that would be a problem. The solution is that you wear your SR when you're not around her. And when you are, wear something she likes. If you're still figuring that out, may I suggest Captain's Choice Sandalwood - it does the manly warm and woodsy thing similar to SR, but much more subtle and close wearing.

Thank you kindly for the suggestion. I am indeed still figuring this out. You see If she ever actually did complement a scent on me I would probably pass out from shock. The best I have done lately was to have her smell a bit of Vetiver essential oil I rubbed onto my wrist. The praise was high! She said "Smells better then the other cheap crap you like"

I love the B-M Beaudelaire aftershave splash but the EdT has been on backorder for some time. Are there other colognes that would make as a substitute or pair well the aftershave?
#15 this might help. "Beaudelaire is a pretty unique scent. Brut comes close, but they are distinctly different to my nose. Perhaps a mix of Brut and English Leather, Beaudelaire has that sharp note that EL and Ayramis are known for." and a shout to Tuscany pour uomo

I agree with the members that said it's the man that makes a scent manly. But I also totally understand not wanting to waste money on something that is likely to be worn only by teenagers.

I don't consider myself a manly man. The closest I ever got was being a door kicker in the army. Now I'm a desk jockey.

But I do have some very manly men in my family and distant circle of friends. A lumberjack. A bullrider. A (retired) fireman.

I'm sure there are a few exceptions, but no normal human being wants to smell like their work.

The last scent profile the lumberjack wants to wear is woodsy.

The last scent profile the fireman wants to wear is smoky.

The bullrider wears Stetson.

When I was in the army my friends and I would make jokes about wearing shoe deodorizer spray as cologne. I don't remember the brand, but it smelled good. The last thing we wanted to smell like was CLP.

I do see an appeal for the *retired* fireman/bullrider/lumberjack to wear a scent that reminds him of the good ol' days.

IMO, I think most of the scents that have been claimed to be "manly" aren't actually worn by manly men. They are worn by everyone else. To feel more manly. To be reminded of the good ol' days. To be reminded of their manly father when he would come home from work. To let the scent fill some void in our lives because as kids we all wanted to be cowboys. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone, I'm including myself in this list.

I don't have a suggestion for which scent a manly man should wear, except to wear whatever you think smells good.

I'm curious if any auto mechanics would wear Nissan Smell My Dust?

My recommendation--get yourself over to eBay and track down a vintage NOS bottle of English Leather cologne. Make sure you don't get the aftershave only, it only lasts a few hours. Their cologne as it was made in the 80's is a masterpiece of man smell, and it stays with you.
