Beer of the day - BOTD 2025

Tried a new seafood restaurant with the wife tonight. The tap list was startlingly overloaded with IPAs. I went with this:

Drinkable - but the complete lack of any discernable flavor left me unplussed. I've had a lot better Irish stouts over the years.

Good win for LA in the Monday night game.
As a Minnesotan, I should be upset... but I couldn't care less about pro football. I'll be working with a lot of soreheads tomorrow.

The wife and I were at the U of M Arboretum for a Wolf Moon Night Trail walk. I thought the cold would kill us, but everything went okay and it was enjoyable. Here's my post-walk, cooperative husband beer reward:

Nice one from Schell's. New Ulm, MN.

New glassware from New Glarus! Produced by Sahm Glass:

The outer pair are the Moldau tankard in 17 oz size, and the inner pair are the Eibsee wheat beer glasses in 20 oz.

Not made for these times.
Was in a cider mood.

Blake's really did a fine job with this one. Not too sweet. A hint of tartness. Very well balanced. The berry notes are there but nothing overwhelming. Easy drinking which you have to be careful with at 8% ABV.

I'd pair this with bratwurst, pork chops, pulled pork sandwiches, etc.

Purchased two of these with pretty high expectations. It didn't meet them, but I'm very willing to accept that my expectations may be impossible... it didn't disappoint. Yeasty bread on the nose with a mediocre finish, and that's where I'd hoped for a better delivery. 7.5% ABV; around $5 for a pretty solid pint. No regrets.
