Bargain Hunting in Aus

My wife has a 2 friends who work for the Endeavor Foundation - one in the office and one on the floor and they told me they weren't allowed to sell donated razors.
So I suggested they GIVE them to me but it didn't work

I hear you. My mother-in-law works at St Vinnies (as assistant manager I think; she is not a volunteer at any rate). When I asked her, she said that she doesn't remember ever getting razors donated.

Of course, she hasn't been looking for them, so it's possible they get quite a few. She didn't comment on any policy regarding selling them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't allowed. I've asked if I could have first dibs on any razors she gets in, so hopefully that will work.

At least my wife knows I'm trying to save money by buying second hand.

Yes I am trying to start off slowly but reading this forum is driving me mad.

I've picked up lots of great razors,including a cased Gillette 15 with shipper,a cased 21,Kampfe Stars in litho tins and numerous other nice ones,just by being persistent. Seek and you shall find. Ebay is a joke due to the hoards of serial collectors out there with bottomless pockets.

LOL! I'm pretty sure tassie is where all of the vinnies stores dump their unsaleable razors.

I've only found four razors here in brisbane, which considering the population and the fact that most people weren't bearded for the last hundred years, is slightly at odds with the number of razors which should be in circulation!

I left one be in the woolloongabba antique centre. It was 125 bucks for a shabby looking three piece in a shabby looking box. I think it was a new, i don't much care for them. The price was ridiculous.
