Oh thanks but I'll pass, still on the honeymoon with Barby, lol.
Well, after 4 or so shaves with the Barbisol Floating Head, I can say WOW! I used a different blade for each shave to try a variety blades, and the only only one that didn't impress me was the Personna Lab Blue. In fact, I got a good amount of razor burn on my neck from it. But the Treet Black Beauty, Gillette Green and Astra SS were absolutely magical. I've never been a huge fan of the Lab Blues, but I picked up a hundred pack a few years ago at a local barber supply store.
I think there was someone in the BST selling barbasol cases awhile ago. Nuvmce razor!View attachment 962539 View attachment 962540 View attachment 962541 View attachment 962542 View attachment 962543 View attachment 962544 View attachment 962545

Photo when you can. .. congratulations.I picked up one of these razors 2 weeks ago with a vintage Old Spice shave mug and a vintage Made Rite brush for $15 at an antique store. It is in fantastic shape. I have used it twice now and man does it give a close shave. So glad I grabbed it.

Last year I was trying to track down information on this. Apparently Barbasol didn't manufacture the razors themselves, but contracted with the Scovill Manufacturing Company. This seems natural, as the company was making soaps and creams; metal casting and machining not really their forte. Scovill was in operation until sometime in the 1960s.
My theory is that when Barbasol discontinued its razor line Scovill either sold their tooling to another manufacturer, or continued to produce a cheaper version of the razor themselves without the Barbasol name.
I exchanged a number of emails with various folk at Barbasol, but nobody was able to find anything on their razors. Too bad, as the company has that cool timeline feature on their website, their razors should definitely be featured on it.
