B&B's Blade Bonanza - 2025 - Top-Tier Blades Edition

Shave #2 with Gillette Tech done yesterday. While I thought I would end up with a DFS or SAS, I didn't. The Gillette Tech is one of these where I can barely feel the blade while shaving. I didn't think that I did a great job at covering all those angles properly. Apparently, I did! BBS shave in the end, which was a surprise. The Nacet works well with the Tech. I don't know yet if it's like the Feather/Tech combo (I still think that one of the best combos you can try).
Having just picket up an old tech in “working” condition at an antique shop, I’ll need to try it out at some point. Sounds like a Feather would be a good starting point. Thanks!

I had an efficient shave today with the Timeless Slim lined up against the Rocnel Elite. Both razors provided a close and efficient shave, though the Rocnel was a bit closer and more efficient.

The Timeless Slim had its best showing to-date with the Nacet. The Elite also did superbly with this Razor. Both razors had a decent amount of alum sting with this blade, but nothing long lasting.

I used an Oumo ST-2 today, along with some creamy Big Al Batch 2 soap (the one with the extra super-fat). Finished up with a truly outstanding men’s EDP, Simone Andreoli Eterno.

Happy Monday! The Gillette Sterling is a modern take on the classic Gillette Tech razor. Designed mainly for the Asian market, but thanks to Amazon, it's in my hands! 🪒 Paired with a Nacet blade, it delivered a smooth, no-nonsense shave. Wouldn’t mind a heftier handle, but overall, not bad at all!

The Nacet was up to the task of 3 days growth with no alum or aftershave feedback. I am binning the blade and starting a fresh one next shave with my WR1 .74. I do really enjoy the Nacet but I do not find it as smooth as the Wizamet SI.

Bonanza!

A Nacet shave today.

It was a good pairing for this neutral razor, as I find Nacets can be a bit scratchy feeling on razors with positive exposure. I do like them though.

It's hard to be sure, but if I had to rate in terms in terms of sharpness I would say: Feather>BIC CP>Permasharp>GSB>Nacet...but I could easily change my mind over any of those last three depending on how the last shave went.

I do think that Nacets are probably a thicker blade stock than Permasharp. That might help them with rigidity so they feel good even though they aren't as sharp. I don't really know, although up to now I have always felt like Permasharp had better longevity. I don't think I ever took a Nacet past 2 shaves, so let's see if we can change that this week.
