Any Warehouse 13 Fans?

O dear. Not another "crime" show. They are just so tedious. Having two direct relatives who between them had nearly 50 years seniority in police work, it makes it a bit hard to watch this stuff. Yes, I know. It is drama. I just don't like them. Invariably they become preachy, very socio-political, and always catch the bad guys. Usually with some uber psychic/reasoning/enlightened hunch that pulls an arrest out of thin air. It has all been done before. I especially like how these guys use handguns to knock off bad guys at 50 plus paces. On the run usually. Heck, until they get in the sights of the main detective characters the bad guys are even better shots. Pulling off miracle shots with ease. Sorry to be so negative but I haven't watched a police drama in decades. Every time I try to watch one images of Quincy, Hawaii Five-O, Hill Street Blues, et al start coming to mind. They have rehashed the same material at least a hundred times. Besides, why can't we have an interesting case of forgery? How about Counterfeiters? Embezzlement? Just a really solid showing of actual police detective work? Nope. It is always a murder and it is solved in a matter of days.

It is called NCIS: Los Angeles. It stars Chris O"Donnell and LL Cool J. Premiers 22 SEP 09 at 9pm on CBS.
OK, I remember that episode with them in LA. I didn't know it was supposed to be a spin-off, I was also under the impression that the character played by O'Donnell was killed.

I watched the pilot and thought it was OK but understood that like all pilots there's some development that will take place as the writers-actors settle in. I haven't seen that yet but there's still time. +1 on Saul Rubinek - he's the only reason why I keep coming back to the show. The show was picked up for a second season and we'll see what direction they creative team takes it.

+1 on the praise for Saul Rubinek. I really want to like this show. I dig the steam punk gadgetry. I can suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy the supernatural storylines; they are well thought out. My big problem with the show is the lack of chemistry between the the two lead characters. I hope the creative team works it out, and that the characters develop soon. I'm kinda losing interest, unfortunately.

I recently get into it and caught up with all the back episodes. I too think the artie character is by far the best, followed by the cute redhead they introduced recently. They definitely overshadow the rather cardboard main characters (Pete has his funny moments). I've never really been into steam punk but I gotta admit that the gadgets and imagery give it a cool time travel effect and unique "look." I'm just afraid the premise will wear thin shortly and the show will get stale.

I haven't heard of this show before. I may have to look into it online. Sounds like something I'd watch from time to time.
