Gillette Bleue Extra can be purchased from many French and Belgian stores still. chrissss offered to supply me with some but I didnt follow it up.

Thanks Dridiot! Just picked up 100 of the Bleue Extras. I've had great success with the blues and blacks. Thanks for the great prices!! Website worked great and the discount code is a very nice perk!!

I'm a big fan of the NOS gillette bleue extra and have a decent stash. However, IMHO the personna lab blue runs it very close and is worth a try.

The current GBEs available in Franche and Belgium are cardboard tuck blades made PPI in St. Petersburg, Russia. The ones Dr. Idiot is selling are NOS plastic dispenser blades made by Gillette prior to the move to PPI. They are different blades.

I have not tried the boxed GBEs. People who have say good things about them. But the GBEs I use, and love, are the NOS ones in plastic dispensers that were compared favorably with Swedes back when the two were readily available.

Hi Guys,
I beg to differ though.
Not Swedes definitely. The Swedes are a tough bar to clear, really....though for some YMMV.
Cheers,

Jim, you and I seem to overlap quite a bit in blade preference. The boxed GBEs are fine blades, but I would put them a notch below the Silver Blues or 7OC Super Platinum Blacks in both sharpness and smoothness. Probably somewhere between the 7OC Green Stainless and Yellow Sharpedge. They cost just under 2 euros per 10-count tuck in grocery stores in France. The NOS GBEs, as you know, are a cut above this.

Jim and I also share a taste in blades.

I find that the current GBE's are about the same out of the box as the NOS version but slowly degrade with each shave. The NOS blades tend to either hold their qualities or even get slightly better, then (for me) towards the end of the 4th save they fall off a cliff.

Silver Blues are some of the greatest blades you can get right now. I am stocking up.

Will post a photo of my stash once the Spoilers and Silver Blues arrive.

Love the Silver Blues, and at 32$ shipped the price is awesome. Also ordered a pack of the GBEs just to try.

.......and the RBAD just continues to flourish........

....and I just placed an order.
I hope I didn't miss out on getting the Gillette Bleue Extra blades.
They are pretty much the only blade I like other than a Feather.
The Silver Blues I have some of and I like them too, but those GBE are fantastic.
