Antique stores in Minnesota scores

I'm not the only one, unfortunately. I ran into a guy from Wisconsin at a flea market recently who said that he has over 600 razors in his collection! That's not collecting, IMO, that's hoarding.

Far as I know there are no awards or extra points given to the richest guy in the cemetery. The most razors, well that is a different story all together.:thumbup1:

Went to Midtown Antique's mall, I had 2 hours to kill before work and figured I be able to hit a few stores. Little did I know this store was 3 stories so I spent my entire time here. Found nothing that I purchased but pictures below. I will be going back tomorrow on my day off to hit up the other stores.

(Egyptian Organ Vases, I am going to assume Replicas based on the condition)

That's it for today more to come hopefully tomorrow.

Went back to 7th street Antique's to see if they had anything new in :) ended up getting one thing but passed on 2 but have photos :)

Would this be worth picking up?

Also seen a Gem SE but when I opened it the inside had quite a bit of rust so I passed also not a huge fan of bakelite handles. This one was there the first time I went when I got my Ever-Ready SE

Here is what I ended up getting which was definitely not there last time. Not in the best shape hoping it will clean up slightly but my RAD just could not leave it there. I also felt the teeth were in great shape was what sealed the deal. The blades I assume just toss them in my blade bank?

Any thoughts on the model? I am guessing a tech but it has no date code under the head.

Will post post-clean up pics soon :) my first 3 piece which is neat.

It cleaned up better then I expected with just some SB and brasso. Cleaned a lot faster then I expected too. Also I think I'm going ditch the sheet and use my wood table going forward. I like the aesthetic :)

Thanks @Mlee are those pretty common?

The razor itself is fairly common but a nice set like yours with a nice case is less common. I read somewhere that Gillette had an annual sales of more than 4 million razors during that time period and they were made so well that a lot of them survived all theses years. I have 3 or 4 sets that I've found at local flea market, some nice, some not.

Nothing wrong with that razor and case. Cleaned up nicely and now it must be put to use. Use a steady hand with a shallow angle and you hopefully will find the Old Type to be a smooth shaver! Have fun using it!

I recently learned that that SE is a Gem Featherlight. There was one in a Passaround box and I tried it. I thought it was ok but I like heavier handles.

Nice OLD Type, enjoy! :thumbup1:

You may want to pick up that injector too. It looks pretty nice, and the translucent handles seem to go for a few dollars more than than the standard ones.

I agree, it's a G6 and looks like a nice one. I have one in my collection.

It had a old rusty blade in it that I was able to get out carefully prior to cleaning. Hoping Walgreens has injector blades

Looks great!

Since there is no blade in it you will have to sacrifice one. Injectors are made to load and unload a blade at the same time. If there is no blade in the new blade will drag across the stops and trash your edge. Just load one the immediately load another. Save that blade in case you need it for your next one.
