Advice needed: "Winter" shaving creams

The only "winter" cream I've used is AOS Sandalwood, but it is fantastic stuff.

Agreed, but this Sandalwood scent is so good and natural, it can be used all year round.
DR Harris Marlborough is more of a winter crem with a natural incense smokey cedar and sandalwood smell.

But AOS SANDALWOOD is awesome for sure. No cologne in this sandalwood. Just a fresh natural take on a sandalwood scent. If earthy, a very fresh herbal earthy smell. Amazing.

What!:scared: You just ruined an otherwise perfectly good day sir!
I still found some here, but not last time I checked the vendor wasn't really that active anymore:crying:

J.M. Fraser's now offers only their original scent.

Correct, as I recall, it was discontinued around the end of last year, I had picked up two Mosswood & two Oriental Spice from Shoebox before they sold out. Shoebox still offers the Polar Ice & Jakes Sport in the Sample size, nothing but the Original in full size.

Actually now that I think about it, Trumpers also has Spanish Leather in shaving cream form. That's a nice warm scent for winter shaving.

Mitchels Wool Fat hands down. It protects like nothing else and is a great moisturizer for the dry winter months.
+1, I love the MWF anytime, but in winter it's great. I like to mix a little Burt's bees or Every Man Jack hydrating cream with it for that little extra oomph. Combine that with Nivea sensitive AS balm and you'll be protected from the harsh cold

I think you're right, I remember a reading a post on here last year. Its a shame though, Frasers is good stuff and its low priced. I have a tub of Jake Sport and Oriental Spice, I want to try the Polar Ice, I may have to order some samples.

TOBS Eton College is great in the winter. Even thou it has a prominent lemon top note, it's a very dense and luxurious scent for me.

This is an old thread, I know, but just wanted to thank everyone for the good input received on this topic. I asked for some Proraso Red and Marlborough soap for Christmas, received both, and am thrilled with both!

So many other intruiging options to try, but these two seemed like a good place to start.

I tend to be reaching for Razorock Classic and TOBS sandalwood fairly often. Of course, when I really need a bit of moisturizing I don't hesitate to reach for the Avocado

Raising this thread back from the dead as people plan out fall winter purchases.

In past winters I've liked Trumpers Sandalwood and Musgo Real Orange Amber.

Summer scents are easy for me: menthol, lemon, lime, grapefruit, lily of the valley, lavender, etc. But why not in the winter? Even though menthol is cooling, peppermint is associated with Christmastime and we see it everywhere.

And Spring scents I like are Irisch Moos or Taylors Avocado which smells like grass. But why not have green scents in other times too?

Winters in DC are a wet slushy mess, so why not just use creams that remind me of humid sweaty summers in the swampland?

Any Kiss My Face cream will be moisturizing enough. And winter is when I use some Every Man Jack mint aftershave lotion. Summers I just use Lucky Tiger or Thayer's witch hazel from the fridge. I never use alcohol-based aftershaves since past girlfriends have universally condemned them. I gave up on colognes/EDT's a few years back too.

But then there's always the caveman option of just forget shaving and grow a nice warm winter beard to attract hipster girls. It seems to have worked for some guys. :001_cool:
