Notes:

Simply two pass (WTG, XTG) for Sunday as I first went to the gym and then ran some small errands. Skipping the ATG ensures I have stubble in the morning! I found a way to mate the handle and barrel of the Red Ring again even though the head and handle are technically speaking separated. I think the spring loading aspect might not be that effective any longer, but to be honest loosening the Red Ring even a quarter notch makes it less comfortable for me to shave with.

Technique consistent with earlier shave even though I skipped a pass and skipped my usual prep.

Notes:

I fancied a repeat shave from yesterday (in part because I wanted to avoid shaving with two OC vintage razors simultaneously). Interesting how small changes can change the shave dynamics. I used the Eclipse without handle yesterday (so just the head and barrel). Worked fine, yet today I used the handle again as well and just gives the Eclipse a different kind of grip and heft. Weight is of course basically the same, so that’s no breakthrough. But literally having more in hand gives it an extra nimbleness. I came across an older thread here on B&B when looking for solutions to my problem when I read two comments from Doug @nemo and @romsita respectively mentioning that barring a donor razor the crack in in the handle might actually be part of the charm and doesn’t impact the shave in itself. And it made perfectly sense to me. So I sanded the inside of the tube to allow the barrel an easier passage and it works great. Better than when I first got it. And the barrel screws onto the head without resistance as well. Happy bunny. The ABC was very effective on the first pass and felt smooth and comfortable. I had the impression yesterday that the blades were about done, but today it felt they made a second spurt. As I am changing to milder razors I might actually see some additional shaves with these blades.

After using Boris’ @blethenstrom exceptional soap how could I not use Mark’s @BigAlVista again like I have for all of March. Absolutely brilliant soap. Lathers super easy, great slickness, really nice post shave feeling and that subtle scent. Mark is very interested in brushes too by the way. He likes them so much he will go out of his way to get one. I mean, being too afraid to ask Brush Legend @Rudy Vey for a bespoke one, he put together an entire Group Buy just to get one  I am kidding of course. But not about the Group Buy which you can find here.

Technique mostly on par and to my liking. Very nice indeed!

Enjoy your shave today!
