So, I just took stock of my stock - to see if I need anything for GRUYERE 2025 - well…I think I have enough for GRUYERE 2035 too!

Roughly 1,200 blades and the following soap list (in random order):

• Nivea cream
• Proraso Green cream
• Proraso Green tub
• Proraso Green small tub
• Intesa cream
• Wilkinson shaving soap (2)
• Mon savon
• Florex Schaf Milch
• Boris Shaving Soap #1
• Hampshire Wool Fat (2)
• Arko (3)
• VanderLovett Dutch Blue
• Razorock Lime
• Razorock Mudder Focker
• Razorock Almond
• Areffa Discoverer
• Areffa Phantom of Kyiv
• Mike’s Barbershop (3)
• Krehpin Lime
• Mitchell Wool Fat (tallow)
• De Vergulde Hand Eucalyptus
• Canada Shaving Soap
• Tabarko
• Goodfellas Smile samples (10?)

In my defence this is also for my boy…but some of these soaps will last 200+ shaves!

I am relatively low on balms and aftershaves, but that’s only relatively speaking. Enough for the year for sure and probably a little longer.

Making any type of list of my razors, brushes, soaps, blades, aftershaves, or balms is likely to open me to ridicule or cause me to question my own sanity even more than I do already. It also might have prevented me from buying a Yaqi Sagrada Familia Tuxedo synth brush yesterday just because I saw it for $2.51 with free shipping (with the discount for my first Ali Express purchase).

I had to buy it at that price, right?

Thank goodness my wife loves me. That's my story, and I'm sticking with it.

The Sagrada Familia is a fantastic brush Mitch @mgweatherly. I have had many temptations to get one myself. But I have the Lucky Dice which is superb as well - I believe they share a similar tuxedo knot. You are in for excellent lathers .

I might be missing something, although I sold all my MWF stores just before they went out of business.

I have about 1600 blades and 8 or 9 aftershaves but only half a bottle of balm.

I am a bit worried about running out of Old Spice too. But the point of this is to make a dent in the stocks, not buy lots of extra stock at the beginning so you net out after 12 months!

You should be good for a while Jim @Goblin! And do try that VanderLovett - it’s a very nice soap and lathers almost instantly.

I have absolutely no idea what my stock is looking like. Two boxes each of soap and aftershaves at least. I will get a shelf in the coming months to remedy this problem to organize the hoard.

  • 1000+ stainless vintage DE razor blades
  • 400-ish vintage carbon steel DE blades that I will not use
  • 300-ish modern stainless DE blades
  • 50 modern stainless GEM SE blades
  • 80 vintage carbon steel GEM SE blades that I likely will not use
  • 75-ish stainless injector blades, most of which are vintage, but usable
  • 40-ish vintage carbon steel injector blades that I won't use
  • 50-ish vintage carbon steel blades in other formats that I mostly don't or won't use (Valet, Seigel, Durham, Enders, etc.)
  • 100-ish vintage stainless blade cartridges that I will probably use once in a blue moon for kicks (Wilkinson bonded, Techmatic, TRAC II, Atra, etc.)
• 222 Razors
  • 145 vintage Gillette razors made 1907-1986 (I have used most of them and could use all of them)
  • 62 other vintage razors of various types (GEM/Ever Ready/ASR SE; Schick/Eversharp or PAL injector; non-Gillette DE)
  • 10 vintage straights that I've never used because they scare me
  • 15 "modern" razors, 1 of which is coming for Christmas
• 32 Brushes
  • 19 vintage brushes that I mostly do not use
  • 13 "modern" brushes, 2 of which are coming for Christmas (I have or will use them all)
• 45 soaps or creams, 4 of which are vintage soaps (Williams and Colgate)
• 10 shaving mugs, 5 of which are vintage Old Spice mugs
• 8 splashes, 4 of which are vintage Old Spice
• 9 balms, 4 of which are coming for Christmas
• 5 vintage blade sharpening machines

I tried GRUYERE 2024 and succeeded until mid-November when I answered my wife's question about what to get me for Christmas with a Razorock Lupo 72, a Razorock synth brush, and four Stirling balms. I'm waiting until Christmas to open these. I also bought myself the Yaqi La Sagrada Familia brush that I mentioned a few posts prior. So, I think I added "only" 4 balms, 1 razor, and 2 brushes during 2024. Not t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e (if you ignore what I already had).

I think the responsible thing for me to do is join GRUYERE 2025 . Has that thread opened yet?
