What's new

6th Annual 'Saint' Sue Moore Memorial Fundraiser - We Need Your Help!

I have a Gillette Slim that's destined for the auction. Will keep looking for some more to send along with it.

Rumor is there may be a small batch of custom soap offered for the auction.....

Can any soaper make a custom soap donation for the cause or just registered vendors? There are quite a few soapers here in Oklahoma and Texas that I could talk to about bath soap and hopefully even shave soap. If not due to free advertising concerns I completely understand.

If you want to find out what they can do we'll work it in to the auction.

Would anyone be interested in bidding on an American Button Company razor in the correct case?

Or, guess what I bought for $20 US this morning?

(I am not asking for its value! I am asking if my fellow B&Bers in this thread think it will bring home a decent donation.)

I also found a 1950s Blue Tip case that's headed for the auction. The case had a decent Tech inside. That's headed for the auction too.

Pictures tomorrow. I will also be asking for advice as to how much clean up I should give this ABC set?

Pretty razors get more bids!

No time like the present to get those donations submitted! The sooner the better.

Thanks everyone!!

Here are the Gillette American Button Company Razor pictures.

The razor handle is pristine. No brassing, no color loss, nice gold color, no pitting. It's a beautiful handle with no visible issues.

The razor's head leaves a lot to be desired. This razor was used. Or, the seller did some mixing and matching. The comb's times are straight.

The case seems to be the rarer "gun metal" case. It opens and closes like it was brand new. The seller seems to have tried to scrub some of gun metal coloring off. The pictures are accurate.

There is no blade case. But, it came with some old blades in their sheaths.

The velvet is good for a razor of this age. The purple color is deep and accurate in the pictures. There is some wear where a bit of metal is showing through. The pictures tell the story.
