Shave number 72
365 shaves (or more) in 2025

Razor:
Muhle Rocca R94
Blade: Silver Star (6)
Brush: Yaqi Evil Zebra
Soap: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
Post Shave: Nivea Hyaluron Creme
A/S: Davidoff Cool Water

Another 3017 shave with SDM and the blade is starting to deteriorate. There is a little more stubble left on my neck, but not enough to start a new blade. However I don't believe it will be long before I have to change blades so I'd better get to choosing a new tuck to kill

Thursday 13th March, shave 72

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Lather: Palmolive Stick, made into a puck
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.84 SB, Al Handle, Astra SP #5
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm

A repeat of yesterday, but with a welcome change of soap. I got a comfortable DFS+.

Today is 03–14-2025. Day - 73/300 +.

Razor: Vintage Gillette - Super Speed Tech No Notch 1947 (My Birth Year)
Blade: KIA - Stainless Blade - DAY # 3 USEAGE.
Bowl:
N/A
Soap/Cream: Cremo - Refreshing Mint, smells is great.
Brush/Instrument: Fingers/Omega Boar
Extra Stuff: Witch Hazel

Used my Vintage Gillette’s today it a Vintage Gillette - Super Speed Tech No Notch 1947 (My Birth Year), was bought off E-bay by give who does Razors, and is stand up seller. Three passes, With, Across, &, Against the Grain, using what I called first day of use a **Unknown # 13 - Stainless Blade. Calling it the Unknown 13, as I must have look at Blade, Wrapper 13 times, only to be left with no clues, who made, what is brand or model. Blade chops down Beard like Hot Knife Cutting Cold Butter, easy as 1, 2, 3, Blade is Super Sharpe almost dangerous. Today was DAY # THREE for this Blade, came out of my Orphan Blade Ziplock.

Shave today was Dam Fine Shave but did not achieving perfection rating, would be 9.8, Close to BBS. Results were great because I payed a lot to what I was doing, with my Vintage Gillette - Super Speed Tech No Notch 1947. Technique, Head Angle, and Pressure to reaped rewards, of DFS, not chasing BBS, but still got Another Great Shave. SHORT Strokes not more than 1.5”s long at a time on forest pass seem to work best.

Using Tube of Cremo - Refreshing Mint, This scent is very very nice, it doesn’t knock you over, but scent is present. It leaves a slight tingling sensation like menthol post use. Still working in the Cremo with my Omega Boar, it seems to helped getting Beard to stand up for closer shave. Working with Brush on Face don’t lather much, but seem to help raise Beard for Shaving off.

I am a Vintage Gillette Junkie, That is all I own, they work well, never failing to give good DF Shave with New Sharp Blade. This Super Speed’s Handle is tad short then slim I use last few days. If the Razor has one fault it would be nice to be 1/4-3/8 longer handle. But this is a flipping Great Razor, that does produce a Dam Fine Shave, can’t imagine much better results from a modern super razor. Sorry but people need to try a Vintage Gillette with an open mind, if they don’t own one. Lots of bang for buck, any many levels of aggression built into one great Razor. JMHO

Tonight another 3017 shave and with a bit of care the finish was better than last night, still a DFS wasn't bad. I looked through my blade stash and have decided to tackle one of the dreaded Treet tucks in my collection, made worse by the fact that it is a 10 pack with about 8 or 9 blades left in it

Friday 14th March, shave 73, ⅕ done already!

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat (Tallow)
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC1.05 SB, Al Handle, Astra SP #6
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm

Back to the 1.05mm baseplate today. I wasn't concentrating, but autopilot and a bit of tidying up got me an easy near-BBS.
