The Baili blade was terrible. Shifting to the GC 0.76P for the coming week after some discussion on the forums around picking a general purpose GC baseplate. I think the 1.05P is actually great for daily shaving, but if picking blind for a new DE user maybe the 0.76 or 0.84 would be a better bet. Looking forward to seeing how I like the 0.76 after a good stretch with the 1.05.

Tonight was the 30th shave with the Personna Platinum and after last night I resolved to take more time and be a little more thorough. I lathered up with the Kosmo and had a more relaxed shave. The Rocca did a fantastic job and left my neck was noticeably smoother than last night. So it looks like I am heading into the 30s with this blade.

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Lather: Palmolive Stick, made into a puck
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.76 SB, Al Handle, Astra SP #5
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Nivea Balm

Another excellent Palmolive shave. As a 365er, the .76 gets me a drama-free DFS easily enough.

Looking forward to seeing how I like the 0.76 after a good stretch with the 1.05

I'm also giving the .76 a try, I'm on day 4.

There's a case to be made for using the mildest razor that works. On the other hand, the 1.05 with a used but smoothed blade (Astra SP) feels really comfortable.

Maybe this is the inverse of the "very mild razor, insanely sharp blade" solution that works for some people.

I often move up to a more aggressive razor as my blade wears in
