Tonight was another 3017 shave with SDM and I changed brush to the Evil Zebra. Though the shave was comfortable the edge has gone from the blade and there is a little stubble on my neck. I could probably get a few more shaves out of it, but as tomorrow is SV Saturday I think I will just change the blade.

Brush - Semogue 1305 Boar
Finish - Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum

Trying out my latest Superspeed, the black handle from 1976. Put a Gillette Super Thin blade in it, made in Thailand, and these are much better than the ones made in Vietnam. Stirling Hot Apple Cider from a sample puck still around, the Semogue boar and two passes produced a very fine shave. Splash on the Bay Rum and chase down my wife. All in all a great shave!

The narrow gap Game Changer seems to be a good match for harsher-feeling blades. I got a surprisingly effective DFS out of it.

I really like herbal, almost medicinal scents, and in that respect (and, of course, in respect of its performance) MdC Absinthe is something special. A dash of mint, a hint, possibly imagined, of citrus, but mostly just anise and fennel, all pleasantly restrained.
