iKon Tech?

In my (personal) Excalibur record breaking run (in which I shaved daily), the last 30 shaves were with my iKon Tech.

I was planning on another razor for this year's FFFMM, but if you go for your iKon Tech, Jim... I'll join you with mine. Deal?

Actually, I was kidding about the iKon Tech. Still, I will consider the challenge. I'm not promising anything just yet though, Cal. It's a formidable razor.

I did a the 2021 Fixed with the Wunderbar. It is a very interesting razor. Wonderfully smooth. Very efficient. Also prone to jumping up out of the bushes to bite the hell out of you. I think during the entire Fixed Four I had only one day with zero blood and that was the final day of the Fixed.

Probably it would be smart for me to review my shave notes when I used the Tech, none of which are recent, before deciding. Even smarter would be trying a Tech shave sometime soon, but I'm not going to do that, probably.

I'll do the review for sure.

Okay, I've reviewed the notes from several of my iKon Tech shaves. Mostly what I recorded was not loving the razor, finding it harsh, but not noticing it biting. I also found that I liked it best on a light handle. Reading my notes left me terrified about using the Tech for a Fixed which of course increases the odds that I'll use the Tech for a month. On the other hand I could come to my senses and go with the Sailor or the CM1 or something sensible. Pondering...

I've also located the razor so there goes that excuse. I may be the only R41 handle fan. I especially like it in the Rose Gold version. I have several other lightweight handles which would pair well with the Tech several of which were suggested way back in response to my inquiry. Also light handles made by our late great friend, Doug, of course.

Unaccustomed as I am, I purchased a new razor.

My first shave with the Syntesi was good but not mind blowing. I obviously need some practice with this one. So, I'll give it my usual seven consecutive shaves trial (and see what I think after that ).

The thought of one-and-done is repugnant to the ex Excaliburist in me, Mitzie...

also, I don't mind cleaning the damned wax off the blades; but having to clean it off for every shave would really annoy me.
