i'm looking for something that's strong, noticeable and manly with that old school barbershop smell. something 1950's?. something that stays with you all day. tired of buying off of Amazon and never achieving what i want and their not that cheap when your blindly choosing, basically wasting money.

Have you tried PAA? They offer bold scents with Barbershop vibes, like CaD or Good Vibrations.

Aftershaves are more geared to skin relief/repair. If you want something that smells all day
with one application, you’d better look to colognes.
As to reply to the title of this thread, while difficult as there are many I like, I would probably choose Proraso green. It is refreshing during summer yet contains enough of the moisturizing ingredients that prevents my skin from drying out in winter.
For strong ones, I could live with Old Spice, Bay Rum, or Clubman Reserve. I would go with Old Spice if I had to pick right now.
Proraso and Floid are great, too, but they do not meet OP's strong criterion. A good Bay rum is likely to be the best option for projection and longevity.

You are correct there, the Proraso green smell doesn’t linger very long.
