Shave #23
- Still In -

  • Grooming Dept - Edel SOTMC, GRUYERE
  • Connaught's Omega Jade
  • Muhle R89
  • Dorco Titan - One & Done
  • Nivea 2-in-1 Splash

After yesterday and today's shave, I am officially Done with this blade - Binned after the 1st pass and finished with a Persona Comfort Coated.

For me, Green Derby's feel like a PolSilver in comparison to this Dorco; and I'm an avid fan of their multi-blade cart j/s...

Day 30, 96.8% complete

Preshave: Hot washcloth
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Cubebe
Brush: Yaqi 24mm synthetic cashmere
Razor: GC.84 SB, Al Handle, Astra SP #2
Bowl: Turkish copper
Post-shave: Proraso Sensitive Balm

The blade had smoothed out, for a very comfortable near-BBS. I don't think I could get a better shave that's repeatable within 24 hours.

Still in and finished out the GRUME with a nice BBS, see y'all in August!

Razor: Schick I2 Hydro-Magic Injector
Blade: Schick Injector blade (15)
Soap: PAA Fresco
Brush: Omega 10290 Boar
AS: Bootlegger's Green Freeze

My time with the Semogue 1250 boar has come to an end. The brush is just too floppy for me and didn't work well as a face lathering brush. It's a shame as I think it is a beautiful brush, maybe I'll replace the knot someday. In the meantime I gave it to my wife and she likes that style of knot.

Today I went back to my favorite Boar, the Omega 10290 and had a great scrubby face lathering shave.

Notes:

Switching back to the R89 for the 5th run with the Titan. Smooth sailing and shaving. Performance of the blade appears to be declining.

Enjoy your shave today!

Dropping by to say I’m still in. I opened my Mike’s No Scent a couple of days ago. It shaves very well but I prefer a scented version. I achieved shave #599 on my Feather Blade yesterday.
I haven’t been posting or keeping up with responses, so I may stop signing up for restraints and just drop in to visit occasionally. I haven’t been tempted to buy gear, but it is extremely difficult to restock my soap on restocking dates since supplies have a very limited availability window. This might not affect me this year since I tried to buy enough to make it through December due to GRUYERE. But even then, one of the new brands I purchased is not shaving well and I may end up getting rid of the unopened puck and violate the monthly and yearly restrictions by buying another brand. (The questionable soap would probably work fine if I shaved with new blades).

Still IN!

Last shave completed today with a Rex Ambassador XL @3.5 (WTG) and @1.5 (ATG) and a ASTRA green (1). Nice DFS and a wonderful GRUME-finishing shave with the Mühle Aloe Vera Soap, Manufactum Bay Rum and Mühle Aloe Vera Aftershave.

I also have not been able to post many shaves this month. Next month I will not be joining GRUME since there is a re-stock of a Super Slant base plate that I have been looking for some time. :c9:

Thanks to all for your GRUME photos and posts! I wish you all a great start into August!
