I will be visiting the beautiful island of Japan next month for an extended amount of time. Is there any shaving supplies that I should keep my eyes open for? Anything that's only found on the island or maybe neighboring countries?

A B and B member sent me a KAI disposable shavette.
It cost only .$25 . That's a quarter.
You could easily buy six of these.

Just do what I do. Go into any local store that sells toiletries and have a look. You never know what you might find. I don't know of anything specific though...maybe a Kamisori razor

I'm just an untrained newbie. I will take a look in the local stores. KAI disposable shavettes? I'm not familiar with those.
Look for some aftershave! Some of my favorites are Bravas, Valcan and Aulese. I also have Lucido by Mandom, but it leaves my face sticky. All of these are very soothing. Check the thread "In Praise of Japanese Aftershaves".
Anything that's branded Feather.
I've read about some good Japanese aftershaves... I don't recall names, but their drug stores may carry some.
