What's new

MLB: Cubs.

Hi Guys. It looks to be an exciting season for the North Siders this year, and I was wondering if any folks would be interested in having a place where we could share news, thoughts, commiserations, recriminations and hopefully, Jubilation? God knows it makes it easier to support the Cubs when you are around others who have shared your pain.

I noticed last season during the playoffs, that the Mets Fans on B&B had a great thread going and created a nice community of like minded folks. I was wondering if there was any interest in having the same sort of thing for Cubs Fans? It would be very informal. Please post and let me know what you think. Non-Cubs fans would be welcome as well, as long as everyone respects one another. It's always great to hear intelligent comments from the other side.

I'm in, although I won't be of much help until they get past the little west coast trip to kick off the season. :)

Understood. I went to bed and the score was it was 2-0 last night, and when I checked the score in the morning it was 9-0 Cubs! Best to get a west coast trip out of the way early though.

Ok, it's 11:00 PM. 6-1 Cubbies. Is it safe? Hope so. It's only April. Yes, I know they mean as much April as in October, but it's a Tuesday... Rizzo's blast to straight away center was awesome btw!

I anyone else having trouble locating the games on television? With all the channels that are broadcasting the games, I feel like I have to prepare in advance to be able to watch the games.

Hopefully once the West Coast trip is over, there will be some activity on this thread. Tonight's game is supposed to be on CSN+. For those of you who have been scrambling to find the games on TV, here is a link to the 2016 Broadcast schedule:

Hopefully it makes things easier for everyone. You'll still have to coordinate the channels with your service provider, but at least you know where to start.

Schwarber injury. He collided with Fowler in left center. It's his left leg. They are carting him off. He wasn't able to put much weight on it.

5-1 road trip on the Coast. Could have been 6-0. They are looking great. Arrieta had a mediocre outing (for him) but hit a 400 foot bomb. The Schwarber injury is a tough one, but I heard it mentioned that he is a plus three WAR player, and maybe Soler, Sczsur, Baez can cushion the blow. We will definitely miss the left handed bat. Especially when he comes off the bench. Shaping up to be a very fun summer. Home opener tomorrow. Anybody going?

I survived the Vegas trip, where I was spoiled by being able to watch the games at the sports books in the casinos. Hopefully Comcast will be showing most of the games from here on out.

The problem is locating them. The list I posted above gives the channels, but then I have to find them on RCN which can be a pain in the ***. But what if the game is on something like CLTV Plus, and you don't have access to the list? Good luck finding it.

I'm an Illinois ex-pat ... but love the Cubs. Actually considering getting the MLB package on DirecTV for this year. They're also always on radio on Sirius/XM

Great start to the season ... bummer about Schwarbs, but clearly they're built to last even with such an injury.

I was at the game last evening. it was pretty cold and the wind was blowing straight in from center. I didn't think anyone would be able to hit one out, but Bryant did! Otherwise, they just kept grinding out their at bats, and kept the conga line moving. its really going to be a fun season.

Last night's game ...

Was pretty funny seeing the StL fans getting their jorts in a twist every time Hayward came up

Two out of three from the Cards so far in Saint Loo. Going for the sweep tonight! I'd like to see the hitting come around though....
