How Long for Each Blade?

My Feather Artist Club SS non-folding straight razor is at the post office, ready to be delivered Monday morning. I also ordered the Professional and Pro Guard blades. I have never shaved with a straight razor, so this is going to be a unique (and frightening) experience.

I've been using a DE razor for the last year. I change blades (Astra) after about four shaves. What's typically the average number of shaves one can expect to get out of the Feather straight razor blades?

You should get much better milage from the Feather AC blades. I can get up to a dozen shaves from a blade.

I could get more, but I change after 4........

I've got at least 20 on mine, but no idea of the count, or how long it's been in there, because it's a traveler.

Use zero pressure when you shave. Just whipe the lather off. It is the least forgiving of poor technique, but once you get it, it's as good as it gets.

I just had my 25th shave on a pro blade this morning.
