Plisson knot gets a new look

I like the Plisson handle, don't get
me wrong. I just wanted it to be
a bit more ergonomic. I also really
like the M&F "chief" style as it looks
exactly like what I'd consider comfy.
So, I took a piece of flame Maple, and
did something about it. Progression below:

This is my second attempt at
making a brush handle. The first
attempt failed. This one is a success!

Awesome. Plain and simple. Can you take a few more of the plisson handle sawed down so I can gauge how far to go for mine?

will post some tomorrow, but if you
look at the second pic, where the glue
ends is where the inset stopped on
the Plisson handle. Unfortunately, I
didnt measure the depth of the insert.

That is a truely beutiful brush. That wood and fibre match is awesome. Just recently got a Plisson of my own that I've been trying. So far I am liking it but now that I've seen how much better it can be I'm going to be looking for a change.

I removed it with a Dremel bit.
As an update, this brush is working
out very well. If I ever do this again,
I will increase the length of the handle
a bit more as I still get a little lather
on my thumb as I work it in the
salsa bowl.
