Recommendations on Trip to Germany

Hello,
I'm going to be in Frankfurt next week and wanted to see if there were any suggestions for a person new to straights while there? I saw some interesting posts about Revisor but it seems there was some souring on them.
Besides brands is there any guidance you'd give to a Newb making their first in-person purchase?
For example, should I take a loop to any potential purchase? Should I check for warp? Btw, how does one do that?

Hey I'm about an hour south of Frankfurt, if you can find a DM store and purchase some shaving soaps and other body products. Also Solingen isn't to far from there, Ralf Aust, Dovo, etc are located in that town.

If you are buying a new one, I would not worry to much about warp, but if you follow the advise on these two threads, you should be OK.
