what kind of hair cut do you gents get?

I'm going to ressurect this thread for my own sake. Do any of you guys change your hair style in accordance with weather changes?

I used to let my hair grow longer in the winter and then buzz it all off in the summer. Now I pretty much keep it the same with the exception of using different pomades in my hair. Thicker petroleum in the winter and heavy weather - lighter and more flexible petroleum in the summer.

Generally speaking it's the same length, summer or winter.

And the same style.

Which is why I'm here. I've grown a bit tired of my current style. Two guard on the sides, blended out toward the top, top is usually shorter and spiky/messy. I have a great barber, but I haven't made an appointment lately because I don't know what I want. Right now it's getting rather unruly and shaggy. In fact, the GF asked last night, "You ARE getting a haircut this week, right?"

Considering something different, maybe a high and tight into a shorter "messy" style on top. I'm just not sure I want anything like an executive contour or anything like that, but I can be swayed.

When I was younger I would grow a great winter shag. Once I turned 30, I started keeping it the same year-round.

#2 on the sides and finger-length on top (maybe 1/2 inch or so).

Been today for a trim. Went crazy and went with a side part but with a grade 1 on the sides instead of my usual grade two. SWMBO said it really looks better!!!. Whacked some Brylcream in and hey presto, sweet!

I get a short back and sides with a trim on top. Usually I go with a grade 2, occasionally I'll go for 1.

I had to change my barber recently because my previous one moved out of town. The first barber I tried is a Turkish guy, and I opted for him over the other shops simply because he has a board outside his shop with the Arko guy! I've been back a couple of times since and he does a really good job, I think better than my previous barber.

Buzzed sides with a high fade, little length on the top to control. Tapered in the back. Basically the cut I had in the military with just a bit more length allowed.

I didn't even know hair cuts had names. I'm gonna call mine the
''Clipper without a guard extravagant cut for the refined, partially bald, pot bellied, middle aged Gent''.

LOL. I like that. I'm going to call mine:

"Number 3 on the sides, scissors on the top, with a part on the side, and stop cutting when the bald spot starts to take up more real estate than the hair."

Mine is slicked back, with all of the hair ending around the base of my skull. I have a very sharp widow's peak and receding hairline, so it's almost as if there's an 'M' on my forehead. A friend once accused me of looking like a Hollywood villain, but I like the style and it's easy to maintain, so I'm sticking with it!

zero guard or #1 depending on the temperature for me, nowadays. I used to be able to rock a serious pompador and I feel bad all this pomade is coming out now. I guess I could try out a righteous comb-over or a donut.

I've been rocking this since I was in junior high school. So about 15 years.

Yup, bringing this thread back...

I have just recently had my hair cut in a disconnected style. Sort of a modified undercut. It's basically a high/medium reg for you marines out there but the top is grown out...I mean way out. So I can comb it straight back (think Brad Pitt in Fury) or I can comb it kind of to the back nd side at the same time for a Bordwalk Empire look or to the side for a Md Men sort of look. I love this hair style of mine. I do realize when October comes and I grow a beard out I will look very hipsterish or as they are calling it now...lumbersexual. But that means I will have to avoid wearing flannels...which shouldn't be a problem. I have recently discovee Suavecito Pomade that I think is freaking awesome water soluble pomade. If you don't blow dry it in then it will have a wet look, which I like.

Executive Contour type cut, maybe a little longer on the top and front allowing me to do a slickback if I want (i.e. when the wife is not around) It's funny, she doesn't mind it on the guys in the Vikings TV series, but hates it on me. Maybe it's because I have the wrong kind of six-pack....

I was a senior in college when Casino Royale came out. At the time, I was between styles, and I grew my hair out as most people do in college. But I went to my barber with pictures of Daniel Craig as James Bond and said "Make me look like that."

She did, and I've kept the style ever since. It works for me. I like to keep the sides and top quite short when it's freshly cut, but generally, it's the same style that Bond has in Skyfall, whatever one calls that.
