Here's an interesting flea market find and something I don't see on the "net" when I Google it, so I thought I'd share
This is not a firework (which it looks like!) but it's the one and only, original (accept no imitations!) "Earl's Cast Steel Hone and Strop For Razors And Surgical Instruments".
The directions read "Pat a little paste on the steel with a drop of sweet oil on the same and lay your razor perfectly flat with a circular motion until brought to an edge so you can cut a hair; Then use the bare steel and strop right. If, on trying the razor, there should be any harshness apply". Unfortunately I can't read the rest. I guess the two holders on either side of the case were for the paste and sweet oil which are missing.
