Spring Turkey Season

Opening day is tomorrow here in KS. I'm unfortunately not gonna be able to go until this weekend. I've been driving SWMBO crazy all week practicing with some new calls I got.

Would love to hear about anyone else's hunts this spring.

It opened last Saturday of march here, haven't been yet it rained pretty good last week.

got my permit for Wisconsin in the mail, took the days off of work already, come on may I'm ready to go!!!

Haven't managed to hunt turkeys yet. Definitely got that on my to do list. Pesk things like my job keep interferring!

I hear it can turn into an obsession with its own AD's.

I wasn't able to get much scouting in due to work, but I've been out every weekend since the season opened on April 6th here. This past Saturday I saw a great tom, but couldn't get him to come in (NONE of the birds here have been answering anyone's calls). Yesterday I set up in what should have been a good spot to get a shot at him, but we had some pretty gnarly weather and the birds stayed home. Hopefully soon I can post a pic of this guy in the back of my truck.

+1, and +1 again. I picked up a gobble call on my way home from work, bringing my total up to 7 turkey calls.

Got skunked with weather and the area I hunt hit their quota, so they closed two weeks early. Oh well, fall is just around the corner. Wait...damn.
